Can you bring him to a store with lots of putter grips? I would give him the putter and then bring him to the store to pick out the grip he likes.  Grips are so personal it so hard to give any other advice on this.

Any retail golf shop will have sample putter grips on dowels for him to try out.

I understand that guys. But what if he chooses a grip like a super stroke is that a good grip for a junior golfer. He says he likes my Super Stroke flatso 1.0 on my Odyssey Tank Counterbalance #1

My ten year old has been using a superstroke flatso 1.0 for two years now.

I have a 7YO that uses a SuperStroke Flatso 1.0 with 50g counter core weight on a Ping putter. He also has a Winn pistol grip on a Never Compromise putter. Likes them both. Putts fine with them both. Prior to all of that, he putted fine with the USKG UL48 Jekyll putter and the stock grip on that. It's the Indian not the arrow.

Of course it's fine.  If he likes the feel and his hands fit comfortably then go for it.   If he ends up not liking it then go on to the next until he finds something he loves.  My son has been using superstrokes since he was 4.  Currently uses the pistol gtr or flatso 1.0.

My 8 YO plays SS Pistol GTR tour. Itís a little more slim than most SSís.  Itís a good fit for him and he likes it.   The decision was pretty unscientific though- walked up , picked up a few options, chose that one.  Doubt he has thought twice about it since (nor would he if he had chosen something else).  Myself I would read every review of every dang grip on the internet to try to find best one , haha.  Thatís the beauty of these kids, they donít over analyze things too much and just play with what they have.

I wanted to say thanks guys  I had to go to the golf store this weekend and buy a grip for myself and wile we were there he was messing with some of the putter grips and he said he liked the Golf pride tour ping man grip style so that is what I am getting him to go on his Odyssey Rossie Metal X putter. glad he picked that grip because it will be easier to build up the shaft to make the grip fit tight on the shaft.

The Big Cat uses the same grip... good choice.
