Ugh. This has got to be the worst TV coverage of the year with a nearly 24 hour delay. For those in the U.S. in the central and eastern parts of the country, the GC won't air the final hole until late on Sunday evening. This thread is going to be a ghost town.

The weather forecast looks very nice with temps ranging from 84F to 79F with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

'Not the strongest field of the year, with Ariya, Inbee, Lexi, Georgia, Shanshan, In Kyung, Jessica, and In Gee sitting this one out.

I'm picking Lydia this week. She was a winner here in 2015, and has been in good form lately. I think Danielle should be in the hunt, but winning back to back is so tough. Minjee, so Yeon, and Jin Young should also be in the mix.

Wouldn't mind Jin Young picking up a win, though Lydia sure looks due.  She's my wife's favorite so I'll have to pull for her while we're watching.  I don't think that will be difficult though, she's easy to root for.  Looking at Arg's post mentioning her '15, '17, and recent performances she looks to be a contender.

Surprisingly week field considering only the Majors, Tour Championship, and CP Open have a larger purse.

I probably won’t watch mutch of this one. I don’t mind tape-delayed the next morning but the next night is too much.

Interesting to note that Golfwrx Morning 9 is reporting that Shanshan and Yu Liu may have been pressured to WD from people in the Chinese gov't.  IF true, that's scary.

Yeah, scary stuff. "Increasing pressure from within China to assert its sovereignty over Taiwan". Eccch.

Don't even get me started.  Don't want to get into a political diatribe, but China has been a problem for decades, we're just now finally facing up to it.

Anyway I was wondering if this would happen.  Also note that Taiwan sent some to Shanghai, but China won't reciprocate.  Anyone see the news about airlines and hotels being forced to list Taiwan as "Chinese Taipei?"  Subtle, but bery Orwellian.  Sorry, I'm a vet and deal with China in my current job and at best it's annoying, at worst quietly evil.

Off my soapbox.  I would also look for Sei Young and Bronte as CS mentioned, I forgot about them.  Would be cool to see another first time winner, but Bronte seems very emotional to me and I wonder if she'll learn to maintain compsure to help close the deal.  Such a tough sport.

It wouldn't be the first time. If I'm not mistaken, Shanshan hasn't  traditionally played the event in Taiwan. We're talking about the same government that reportedly offered Yani Tseng millions of dollars to play for China. It's always been Chinese Taipei in sports.

She’s played the event the last four years and has done very well.

I always enjoyed the quirkiness of the Swinging Skirts event when it was in the Bay Area, hoping that lives on now that it's back home.  I don't remember anything about last year's coverage but now that my television is fully weaponized with Youtube TV DVR capabilities I'm looking forward to it.

I'm ready for another So Yeon win.  Let's do this.

So I'm mistaken, no harm done. Is it Yani that hasn't play on the mainland? Maybe I'm living in Lala Land. Losing my mind, has been the theme lately.

Wow, Jodi sighting. 'Nice opening round of 65 to take the first round lead by two strokes over Nelly and Haeji. Hometown favorite Wei Ling is in a tie for 4th three shots back.

No idea why Danielle withdrew. She didn't look injured during the first round. Fatigue perhaps?

Wei Ling is making the home crowd excited. The course will be crazy on Sunday if she can stay near the top after the third round. Recall the crowds when Yani won in 2011?

Lydia with the low round of the day, a nice 66. Jodi had a decent round, but let the rest of the field close the gap. She had 33 putts vs. 25 in the first round.

I thought the course looked beautiful. 'Love the bunkering.

Edit: The LPGA website notes that Danielle withdrew due to illness.

Not surprised DK withdrew due to illness.  All that traveling and playing back to back has to wear you down.  Immune system alone would take a beating.

And Ayako is going to shoot a 5 under in Round 3, mark it!

Geez-if they're on that much a tape delay, they could show more actual golf.  I don't need to see that much old leaderboard.

Another tight leaderboard going into the final round with Nelly and Wei Ling at the top, and 10 players within 4 shots. 'Should be another crazy finish. Of the 12 at the top, 6 are looking for their first wins, and four are looking for their 2nd wins of the season. Will experience win out?

Congratulations to Nelly - she'll be over the moon. A good win, and hopefully the first of many.

Average age of winners this year is 24.8. Only one player (Brittany Lincicome 33) is over 30 in the top 20 Race to CME Globe.

I went to watch this morning and left after the last group went through No. 9. I have played the course a few times and it demands accuracy on every shot. Given today the wind was adding everything from a half to two clubs more, it was a case of embracing the conditions the way Min Jee did. The body language of many a player I saw was not positive.

Congrats to Nelly on her first win. Conditions must have been tough, so it was certainly well earned.

Nice final rounds by Minjee and Ryann. I guess the pressure of the local crowd finally got to Wei Ling, but she should be proud of her first top 10 in 14 tournaments. She played solid all week.

Jodi is one of the best ballstrikers on tour, and is usually let down by her putter, but only 7 greens for the day after hitting all 14 fairways is quite unusual.

Dear Nelly,

Congrats on the win. Let`s hope there are more to come in 2019. Keep the train rolling.

P.S   Tell your sister to get in gear as well. She is slipping further down the rankings.

I didn't watch because I thought it was horrible what the Chinese government did to the Chinese players.

This is not political but the truth, and if you think it was alright, then you need to check yourself.

It is time to keep politics out of sports.

With all due respect, I dont think you understand. By not watching you supported the oppression. The Chinese bar their players from competing in a Taiwan and viewers dont watch because of said Chinese players missing from the tournament. Taiwan is disputed territory with the Chinese government, China going so far that in many major international events China uses its political and economic clout to force Taiwan to be called Chinese Taipei. Taiwan believes they are a free people and not under Chinese control.
