Just saw these on Rory's Instagram Live, supposedly they're in between the 750 and 770 in thickness and forgiveness, and the 7-3 irons have the same signature speed foam of the 790 and GAPR models... anyone heard anything else about these?

Jason Day went live also, didn't exactly seem excited about them. Blatantly said he's "concerned" about the leading edge, all while being filmed by Tom from Taylormade who apparently designed the irons. yikes!

So are these the “Speedier” Foam P790 replacements?

If yes, TM design missed the back of the club aesthetics badly going the wrong direction compared to the P790 IMHO.

From what I heard in the IG Live these are supposed to be hotter than 750 and 770 but not even close to the 790's because of the loft. JD and Rory were hitting the 760's pretty similar distance to their gamers on the videos.

Wow, glad I got in on the P770s!  If these are less forgiving than 770 but more forgiving than 750, and look like that, I'll gladly continue playing on with my more forgiving AND better looking 770s.

Is that for real? Those look terrible. They look like the square strike from the infomercials.

Is that what happens when a private equity firm buys a consumer goods company?

I get that the TaylorMade p series already has three distinctive looking backs, but why not just keep it similar to one of the three?  It would seem that something along the lines of the looks of the 790 would have made the most sense since "speed foam booyah" and all.  Oh well.  I was secretly hoping for these to be beautiful so it would stunt p790 interest and I could swoop in and get them cheap like what happened to the retail price of the 770s (which I did buy!).

I could just see the product line manager of the 790 at the water cooler telling the product line manager of the 760 how great the new 760 looks but quietly fist pumping to himself that his product will still be king!

They should have kept the looks of the P790 and just made it smaller.
