Anyone know whats up with him taking a play out of the Robert Rock/Ollie playbook at the Safeway?  Was thinking "no more club sponsor?" but then realized he was wearing a Travis Matthew hat last season.

Not sure on Luke but I'm always intrigued by the Ryder Cup at how many don't wear a hat when there's no $$$ involved.

Never saw any of it to be fair but some of the posts tended to suggest it was pretty windy there yesterday, maybe took it off before it was blown off?

this was my initial suspicion as well but I needed confirmation from a reputable source, so straight to the WRX message boards I went!

I have a few hats I enjoy, but for the most part, I never understood the hat thing other than attempting to emulate the pros.

It’s basically just a habit for me. I like hats for one thing and have always worn one. Without one on now (on the course that is) I feel a bit strange.

^^^^This.  As you get older, you have more encounters with cancer.  Try hard to avoid those.

I hate hats and never wear one, except.....   Golfing.

A peaked baseball cap keeps the sun out of my eyes but gives world-class hat-head.

A straw hat with a brim shades the eyes and gives coverage to the ears and back of the neck.  But looks dorky.

It's got to go below -20C (-4F) for me to wear a hat in the city in winter.

"Emulate the pros"?  Are you emulating the pros when you wear a shirt?

Protection from the big orange ball in the sky. It’s fairly prominent in the Southeast.

I’m originally from Canada, so can understand those not wanting to wear a hat up there as UV exposure isn’t as great on a whole as in Georgia and Florida. Those not wearing some sort of hat in Florida don’t last long.

So I'm guessing that means he's not paid to wear the hat if he can just play without it when he pleases...either that or he elected to take the pay cut for the day (not sure if he went without it in any other rounds, Sunday was the only day I saw him on the broadcast)

Or just reference Dufner for his great hat game.  Wearing a hat is much better sun protection, but bucket hats...  haven't gotten over the look yet.

I have a few hats I enjoy, but for the most part, I never understood the hat thing other than attempting to emulate the pros.

Yep. But I have a large head 7 3/4 at least to not be tight. And thick hair.  A hat off the rack will give me a headache in 20 min.  So I've never worn one.

Best passive brag I've read on here in a while... well done.

Dont worry my man. If mother nature ever gets even with me Ill have to wear a hat. I have a large birth mark right in top of my head .

Some of these young guys are going bald quick, look at Justin Thomas, Spieth, etc...

I don't wear a hat because I love my hair and at 51, it looks awesome and my wife loves it, lol...

I bet yer fat......
