Successfully, I off green insert aluminum. I was used torch propane.

I plan new metal insert in putter face. I don't know which's kind of metal?

- Brass
- Bronze
- Copper
- Stainless Steel

I think about brass is hardness than pure copper soft.

Bronze is a expensive four time than brass and  copper.   Weird!  I know bronze sword age battle in Rome.

You know Stainless Steel is a harder of the metal.

Hmmm.

Stainless steel.

You will need to mill the face to give it a softer feel. Try to replicate the face mill pattern from a Cleveland TFI 2135 so your off center hits travel the same distance as centered hits.

Don't forget to post pictures...

Not sure why anyone would put this kind of work into a $5 garage sale putter, but have fun.

I bought a metal of brass 360 cost $4.95

- stainless steel 303 is a harder and strong. It's difficult work of hands.  No stock in the shop.

I've some show picture on post.

I like it. Nicely done sir. That insert would look amazing milled.

My fave metal insert right now is the Titallium AGSI inserts on some Taylormade clubs, just amazing accuracy and feel. I believe the grooves are polymer filled or something to that effect. I also bought a ping Wolverine T last week which has an aluminum insert that feels superb. Just crisp and nice and precise but not clicky.

I totally agree with you. I was obsessed groove..groove..groove putter!   I don't have tools for groove face for handmake...(hard thinking). I considered hands saw. Hmmm?

Help rolling slowly and not skipping jumped ball.

Well any tool groove brass but to get a nice circular repeating pattern you need a small drill press at minimum probably. The pattern is easy, i.e. a circle every x", but getting it that precise without a milling machine by hand will definitely make hand of craftmaster. :) Can you stamp brass? Might be an easier option if it's possible, I've never worked with it so I don't know.

Just remembered the story Bob Vokey told about handcutting slots for Seve with a snapped off hacksaw blade. Right here: https://www.youtube....h?v=TgBD6gCcrlg

THE MAN! :)
