Upcoming life changes are going to likely cause a big drop in the amount of time available for play. And with the expected drop in level of play that will likely come hand in hand with the fewer rounds, I just donít see myself continuing. I hope Iím wrong.
And yes, I am very much a pessimist!

Furthermore, there is a young one around that will require me to keep at it for awhile (another 20 years or so should be enough). In order to teach him the fine points of how to play the game. And play some rounds together. The young kid playing from the back tees, out driving grandpa by 100 yards, playing from the forward ones. Can't wait.

Worst case scenario, if I couldn’t play the course, at least hit a bucket once in a while.

Golf. As in Tris the competition is mainly with yourself. When I'm loosing to myself I'll find another sport. I've scores in the 60s. Been as low as a 2 cap. When I can't play in the 70s on a good day, I'll probably quit.
I've done this a bunch in my life. Tennis, basketball, triathlons, snow skiing, scuba diving, cycling, mtb biking... When I've been there done that, I'll move on.

Why? Im 60 now and Ive been knocking em around since I was 11 years old. Whey in hell after a whole life time would I ever stop? I honestly would not know what to do.
So how about you, looking into your future plans as you see them right now with this great game, do you think you will be playing golf the rest of your life?

I'll play until I am put on my deathbed.
Outside of a few people and my dogs there is not one thing more important to me than golf. It was there for me when I had few friends in school, it was there when I was at the lowest points in my life, its where I go to relax or chill out if even for a few hours and no matter how crazy or terrible life gets the golf ball has never lied to me.
