I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on this.

Does anyone know if TM have plans to replace or upgrade TP5/TP5x in 2019?

If they follow their 2 year cycle, there should be new TP5 balls this Fall.  To improve on the TP5 balls Taylormade has their work cut out for themselves!

I can't imagine they could do much more. TP5 spins like crrrraaazzzyyy off the wedges, and is still pretty low spin off the driver. Soft feel... awesome ball. Only reason I play the PJa is because they spin about 80% as much but for half the price.I bought a box them for the heck of it and I loved them.

Agreed! Tough act to follow for sure but they can’t be upstaged by Titleist’s 2019 Pro V1 series. In fact, I think Titleist aside from the yellow announcement, is scrambling to keep up with TM and Callaway at retail. The top end balls are so good and so similar that saving money and not losing out on performance is what many golfers I know are doing.

Considering I just stocked up on the TP5X, the odds are good that something new will be coming out. lol.

I agree with the other posters here though, I'm not sure how they could improve on the TP5/TP5X though. I thought the 2016 Tour Preferred was an incredible ball and the TP5X blew me out of the water.

I might be one of the few looking for this, but Id like to see a yellow version of these balls.

Anyone?

Just me?

Probably.

Blasphemer.

The only thing that they could potentially improve on is maintaining the low spin, high launch of the TP5x with more spin around the greens. If they could combine the feel and spin around the greens of TP5 with the long game performance of the TP5x it would be perfect.

TP5 is a great ball. No weaknesses. Making a premium ball better is getting harder and harder as in truth they are pretty maxed out. Different feel yes but actually superior performance....nope.
