I recently shot 83 - 106. Course and slope rating is higher on the course I shot 83 on. I had my best putting round of the year while shooting the 106.  I avg 55 hrs of work a week with another 7.5 hrs of drive time back and forth to work. As a result, I had not gotten to practice in months.

.... and golf is hard. I either have to accept I am going to have really bad days or quit. Iím no quitter!!!

Same course back to back days, same tees >>> 68 then 86.  18 shots is my PB for "spread" over 48 hrs I guess

My front 9 to back nine is almost better.  33 then 50.  17 shots  .... arghhh

Golf is a hard game, even for +7 cap players like Fowler who had some rollercoastering going at Bridgestone last week (documented above)

Had a 9 on a par 5 the last 2 rounds. Started the last round with 3 pars then proceeded to go bogey triple bogey double bogey double bogey bogey bogey. Then that 9 on 10.

Boy oh boy after reading these I'm not sure anymore ........

My story goes like this shoot a 101 on Monday at one course. Tuesday in a tournament on the first tee, shank the drive 50 yards behind a tree. Playing safe on the next shot shank it again, finally get to the green for a 6. Not looking good today but it starts to click on the 4 hole a 187yd par 3 with a pin-high 6 iron and a bird. Finish with a 43 on the front. Then I was rolling along was a few pars on the back, no major hick-ups, even an eagle on a short par four. End the back with a 38. 81 for the day best round ever!!! :telephone:

Now as we all know I'm not looking forward to the next round....... :bigwhack:

Follow up to come......Friday maybe. :read:

:golfer:

Well we did OK, same course 87. 43 on the front with a 44 on the back.

I once shot 91 in my morning round and 71 in my afternoon round... What did I do different? Beats me. I did eat a club sandwich at lunch though, so maybe that was it. Golf is weird.

I shot a 106 and was so pissed I wasn't going to play the free replay.  Went in and had lunch and figured WTH and played the replay and shot an 82, which is tied for my best score ever.

I played in my states mid am and shot 92 with a quad on the last hole. The whole day I was walking  and my playing partners were in carts !

They were on the green waiting for me for most of the day on the par 4s !! It was pouring rain the last five holes.

I am not a young man and had a triple and three doubles to go along with the quad but I did post and did not go NS like five others!!

Golf is the cruelest game of averages

I always keep this in perspective. Tiger played 9 holes the Sunday before the US Open in 2008, he didnt break 50. He was chunking and shanking irons in the practice rounds and he still won that event.

I remember two instances where the same thing happen to me. I the 7 days before my PAT I no joke did not touch a club. Went out the night before (I was shooting the mid to low 70s at the time) played 9 and didn't break 50. Passed my PAT the next day.

Was going to play a good friend for $25 a hole the next and decided to practice and play 9 the day before. Fired a smooth 56 on the "practice round", shot 70 the next day and lost by 1.

You will have days were you are just not going to me on.

#GolfIsHard...

This is why I love the game and hate it at the same time!  One round you think you have it all figured out and then the next it feels like you can't even grip the club the same way twice.

Yesterday I shot a not so smooth 83, in reality only a couple of shots worse than the 4 81's and 80 I'd carded my last 5 rounds.  The front 9 I had a no hitter going with both woods and irons, but scrambled my way to a few pars and bogies until a bladed LW on 8 led to double and I rinsed my next drive, imploding to a triple on an easy par 5 for a snowman and a 46 for my league 9 hole score.  Sweet.  Awoke from my coma with a good 8 iron approach shot on 10 after yet another scruffy drive and then hit the ball solidly for the last 8 holes for a ho hum +1 37 on the back 9 (with a 3 putt bogey on 18).  Can't ever remember having a bigger rally nine.  Its a crazy game but glad I followed the 46 with a 37 instead of the other way around!

I played in a club championship about 10 years ago, shot 76 and leading after the 1st day.  Then choked like a dog, shot a 93 the next day.

Earlier this week, a buddy's son shot a 69 and leading on the first day of a two day junior tournament. Then shot an 85 the next day and finished 7th.

This is the exact reason I have so much respect for the dudes on tour. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of some of the personalities, that doesn't take away from the talent. To not only shoot that low of a score, then follow it up 3 more days in a row. I can only imagine. Actually I don't think I can imagine that.

Shot 72 going 39-33 in preparation for my club championship. I was feeling great and really thought I had a great shot at winning. Next day was the qualifier for match play. First hole, great tee ball center cut, iron shot to 26' center of the green. Thought the worst I'd do is 3 wiggle. NOPE! First putt left about 10 feet short second putt hard lip out to 4.5 feet then got too sloppy and pulled it so I had a lovely 4 jack. Long (and terrible) story short, I shot 88. Same course, same conditions, tees were slightly different and pins weren't fun but certainly not impossible.

Thank god I'm going on a fishing trip next weekend!

So you guys are saying that I’m totally overreacting to the great range session I just had?  God I hit it great and am full of optimism now. Particularly so since up until two hours earlier, I was so fatalistic about my game after the previous round and bad range session two days ago.

I can’t help but overreact and project the most recent success or failure into the future forever!  Ugh!
