I just got back last night from a fantastic 6 day drip , golf orgy and placed some great tracks, including Barefoot Love, Long Bay, True Blue, Tidewater, Blackmoore and Heritage. We lucked out with the weather, hot and sunny the entire time. Will post a few pics later today.

We stayed at the Careabean Resort right on the beach. They have a new Hi Rise condo facility which we had. It included 3 bed rooms and 3 baths. Easily could sleep 6 people, we had only 4.

Here are a few.
2nd pic- 10th at Long Bay (Nicklaus Signiture design), - one of my favorite courses, in great shape.
1st pic, 2nd green at True Blue. Course was in great shape. The greens are a funny color, but they roll really well.
3rd Pic, back tee at True Blue's 18th hole.

If you haven't played True Blue, it would be my no.1 recommendation. Its a thrill ride. Tidewater was also really great.

I gotta ask you a question about Blackmoore. Did you go for the green on that par four with the small space between the trees or go around the safer way? The one time I played that course I wasn't playing very well and decided to give it a try since I had nothing to lose. I landed the drive right on the green and two putted for birdie.

To be honest, Blackmoore was my least favorite course. Greens were in fairly bad shape in some spots, overall condition was just OK to Good. I did go for that par 4, hit it right into the trees, then hit a another ball about 10 yds short. Stupid hole, but that was our 1st round right off the plane and I wasn't playing well at that point and said what the heck, jut go for it, but no room for error when hitting a driver there. My best rounds were at Love and True Blue.

Yeah we go to Myrtle every year and I have only played there once. I never cared for it. The issue I have with many of the courses in that area are the 90* dog legs. Seems like every hole I hit a 3,4, or 5 iron off the tee. I'd like to look up True Blue when I go there this year. I'd be interested in seeing more pics of that course when you post them.

love me some Heritage. we go to Lengends Golf Resort every year and Heritage is one that is a must play. the clubhouse looks straight out of a movie. Tiger owns a house inside the property, but the pro was telling me to his knowledge, Tiger has only been to that house 1 time...

must be nice, eh?

Heritage was Very Very nice. Some absolutely beautiful holes out there and like you said clubhouse is beautiful. The greens are huge. Some 52 yds deep, so if you on the wrong tier, your looking at tough 2 putt. Somebody is building a Castle on the course, which looks to be about 5 to 7 thousand sq feet on the intercoastal. Maybe that's Tiger's.

The Barefoot Love course IMO is one of the most interesting and beautiful layouts down in MB. Its in fantastic condition and the holes are so interesting and fun to play. The ruins on the front nine which come into play on 2 holes is one of the coolest features I've ever seen.

Also, the barefoot resort has a fairly new practice-range area, which is huge. You do need to take a 2 min. shuttle ride, which is a bit of a draw back, but they bring you over to their golf school, the entire Barefoot resort is top notch in every area, including golf, golf shop, restraunt, service, ect. When your there, your getting the best MB experience there is to offer in my opinion. We were going to do the Dye course on a replay in the afternoon, but after 4.5 hrs on the Love and 85 degree weather we decided 18 was enough. We hit the beach in the afternoon. HEre is a pic of the Ruins at the Love on the front nine. This place rocks and its the one course besides true blue that we have to play everytime we go. Its that good.

18 is a great hole. Definitely brings in a lot of drama to finish the round. When the put the pin in the front, you can hit a wedge past the hole and spin it back pretty good. I salvaged a par there. (barely). Its also great to eat lunch and watch groups come down no. 18. See pic below

Few More from the Barefoot Love course. Great pic of the great dog leg right par 4. Great approach to a Pinehurst like Green with Pines in the back. Also a pic of another approach to one of the par 4's on the front nine with water right of the green.

Long Bay is a nice track; I live there. How did you like #15? In my opinion, the best hole on the course. Sitting there with a driver wondering if you can carry that creek is quite tempting. I know people who can carry that creek from the blacks with 10 yards to spare; and they're left with a 6 iron in. But, push it or pull it and you're done. Great hole, and very underrated. #10 is merely a short tight par 4 with no risk/reward aspect to it.

I absolutely loved Long Bay. We also played it in 2005. Its without a doubt one of my favorites among the 15 + courses I've played down there. I almost took out driver, but I had a good round going. I hit my Nickent no. 2 Hypride and hit a perfect shot about 220 yds down the middle, then hit a 7 iron about 100 yds short. I hit a think wedge that skipped to the back of the green and I think I barely managed a 2 putt, but I had a par on the card. :-) .
The 10th is a real good hole. I hit a 3 wood up the righ side, then hit a weak approach shot way short of the pin on the right side of the green, the pin was back left, but I hit the best putt of the week for me and sunk the birdie from about 36 feet away, it broke hard too!!! Love Long Bay!!! The guys I play with are fairly short hitters , so we were playing from about 62 to 6300 yds, but its still a great challenge. I had 79 there, one of my better rounds of the week.

Few pics from Tidewater. A spectacular difficult layout on the Intercoastal way. My group loved this place. Its definitely a must for anybody who wants to play the best courses. Pic of the signiture par 3, which plays about 180 to 200 depending on which tees. We played it into a strong cross wind from about 190. 2nd pic is a short par 4 with great bunkering and a tough green. 3rd pic is a great slight dogleg par 4 along the coast with great views.

If any of you all are going then it would be worth your time and effort to drive up to Sunset Beach and Play the big cat courses at Ocean Ridge Plantation. Especially Tiger's Eye and Leopard's Chase. Great courses and great staff.
