Sorry to bring up a very old subject, but just acquired these. Never seen a definitive answer on whether it is possible to identify if this model was Muira forged. Does anyone know for sure?

Mine are Rifle 6.0 shafted, I can see no engravings on the shaft (Made in Japan / Shaft USA) mentioned in many topics.

My 5 iron is engraved with a serial number, which again seems common. Mine however do have a pretty rough looking serial number, almost like its been done with a Dremel! The E in the serial is taller than the other characters, and the 3 has a little mistake where it looks like the number was going to start in the wrong place. Serial definitely looks to be made by a series of dots, and potentially by hand?

Any thoughts?

Great irons either way, but I don't think there is any way to tell (for the 300 series), to be honest. You could phone TM and ask, I suppose. If you buy them from Japan, there's probably a greater likelihood they weren't made in Mexico ( I think that's where the non-Miura were manufactured).

Yep, took them to the range tonight, great irons. I play off 18 and found them very easy to hit straight, just wasn't getting much in terms of height or distance though, but I've never been a big hitter. I've emailed Taylormade with the serial number, worth a shot I suppose.

Lehman grinds were definitely Miura.  They have the classic Miura dense forged feel at impact.  Might have to bring mine out of the closet for a round soon...
