The fusion is an older model and of course you know that. Has anyone compared the drivers head to head and is the rogue that much better that it is worth spending that much extra cash?

FWIW, a couple of weeks ago I took my Fusion w/Hzrdus Black into a PGATSS and hit it alongside the Rogue Draw and the Rogue SZ. Since the adapter fits all 3, of course I used my Hzrdus shaft.

So little difference in carry and spin rates it's not worth mentioning. But i will anyway. Average and best were within a yard or 2 of each other. Spin rates were within a 100 or 2 rpms of each other.

The dispersion of my Fusion was noticeably better though.

Hope this helps.

i got to test out the Callaway Fusion driver shortly after I bought my XR16 Pro (see below).

Sorry, but XR16 Pro beat Fusion by 20 or more every time (and I'm talking just carry). From my demo day notes, the rep had the lighter E440 (45 gram) and E450 (55-gram) shafts for the Fusion. The 45-gram felt feathery, and the 55-gram mushy. A heavier Diamana Red shaft was available for the Fusion, but the rep didn't have one.

Best bet: Do a side-by-side with Fusion and Rogue to see which would be best for you.

Iíve compared them all, the Fusion is the straightest bar none, it is long for sure, within 5 yards of the Epic & Rogue.
As CnR has just said 🔝, nothing is getting my XR16-Pro out my bag, but to answer the OPís question, Iíd take the Fusion & not bother spending extra on the Rogue.

I'm a Fusion Fan. I've been hitting some of my best drives in years with mine.

The Rogue is great, but for me, the Fusion rocks.

I didn't test the XR-16 Pro but i tried it in SE Asia a year or so ago. Buddy I was playing with let me hit his with a Tour AD-MJ(?) shafts and it did go very nicely. Distance ? Don't know.

Then again, the poster did ask about the difference between Fusion and Rogue.

And perhaps it should be noted that I played the stock Diamana Red 60 gram shaft when I first got the Fusions and got reasonably good results with it but the Hzrdus Black has made quite a bit of difference.

And yes, of course the best bet is for the OP to try the 2 of them side-by-side.

I will definitely try them side by side if they still have the fusion available as a demo.  I do appreciate all your input. My swing speed is not that great (low 90s) so I am not sure the rogue will give me that much more distance. The price difference is significant though.

My ss is in low 90s as well. Recently picked up the Fusion at the 44.5 length and stock ES 450 shaft (r flex). This thing just wants to go straight. Also, at the shorter length, find it easier to hit the sweet spot (or at least close to it). I find it straighter and just as long as my Fly z.

I was at a ping fitting day and was fitted into a G400 sft at 12 degrees with the distanza shaft at minus 1 inch which I was hitting about 228 carry with about 243 to 245. This is why I was wondering if the shorter fusion would do just as well.

pete,

You don't mention your swing speed here (apologies if you mentioned it before - I'm too lazy LOL). Driver HEADS have been "maxed out" for a looooooong time now.

The ONLY thing YOU can do about it is pair up the right HEAD with the right SHAFT to generate your optimal launch conditions vis-a-vis launch "window" and spin rate considering the conditions. The rest of your drive is up to Mother Nature. :D

So once you've optimized launch conditions the ONLY thing YOU can do to hit it farther is to generate more swing speed. :beruo:

There's some information in THIS thread about it ----> http://www.golfwrx.c...l__ flightscope
