Just looking for some advice. I managed to pickup a TM TP UDI 20* in excellent shape for a steal...problem is it has the Stock KBS CTL in Stiff. Its a touch soft for me as i normally play an X (can see my clubs in my sig)

Common sense would dictate to put in the same shaft as your irons.

I possibly but i want a lighter option...
1) What are the pros and cons of a lighter DI shaft then your set iron shafts?

Im thinking a Modus 105X, DG AMT X100, or maybe even a CTL X?

Im around 108+ with driver. 94mph with a 6i. I struggle with poor contact at times (slightly fat) i have a moderate to fast tempo and moderate to fast transition with a mid to late release but i can also get the slide/stall flips lol.

I currently game a Modus 125X straight in. I enjoy them.

Ive been fit into various shafts before and played them.

SPB X and 125X (love em both)
DG X100 and S400...both are good but not as nice feeling as the Modus. The S400 and S300 occassionally ballooned.
C Taper Stiff (loved them but i slowly started over powering them probably needed a S+)

I like the UDI cuz of its versatility over a hybrid and its very forgiving. I dont need to be limited to low bullets by playing a DG X7 lol. I want a shaft that i can launch and hit high if needed as well as low. Tee and or fairway.

Open to suggestions. Ideally prefer steel but will entertain some graphite suggestions

Do I just keep the same shaft as my irons and put in the 125X or do I drop weight and goto the 105X? Or a different shaft all together?

Most likely, all you really need is the (stock) C-Taper Lite in an X-Stiff Flex... (cool)

The CTL is an excellent match to the UDI clubhead when the flex is right!..

The CTL is great, I loved it as a steel option. I just ordered a KBS proto hybrid after trying it.. And it was great on the sim. Have seen a lot of use on tour now with it and a lot of people seem to like the 95-X (mine is 85-S :) ). Tensei white 90/100 has a lot of good reviews too.

still debating...

Im thinking its going to be either the same shaft as my irons (125X) or go same profile but ligher (105X) whats the advantage/disadvantage of either way?
