So I was thinking, would you rather play a top notch course (like Pebble Beach) with a clunker set of clubs or would you rather play a local muni with brand new clubs of your choice? Explain below!

I voted for great equipment and crappy course with the understanding that the crappy equipment was not old good equipment, but just lousy equipment regardless of age.  Sure I would play Pebble Beach with my equipment of 25 years ago which was not crappy equipment,

Great equipment on a muni. Tourist traps like Pebble do absolutely nothing for me.
I'm not suggesting we kill all the stupid people, I'm just suggesting we remove all the warning labels and let the situation resolve itself.

It would be hard to enjoy any golf with unusable equipment. Playing a nice course wouldn’t suddenly negate that fact. .

Agreed, I voted bad course good equipment for that reason.  I would probably change my vote if I knew my equipment was usable, just not good stuff.

I always want to play clubs that suited me, regardless of the course.

Great course bad clubs all day. I can play great clubs any day, but the chance to enjoy a truly amazing iconic course like Pebble Beach isn’t an everyday activity for me. And if I’m swinging good that day... the clubs just aren’t going to matter that much!

Crappy equipment is going to massively take away from the experience of playing the great course. So proper equipment, crappy course.

I'll play Augusta/Pine Valley/Cypress Point with a shovel if they let me.

I play an ok course every weekend with great clubs.

I play crappy courses with my good clubs.  And I'm OK with that.
On Sundays, I used to play hickory

Hands down, I'd rather have equipment I know I'll play well with at a bad course.
