I got a Bettinardi BB1F. Everything is good except the face. I have no idea how this happened but I am wondering my options. The face milling is intact still and Id like to keep it that way. I am fairly sure this isnt a black ox finish. I have also tried to use paint stripper to remove as well. Anyone have any advice?

This is a PVD finish. It will need more than likely need a chemical strip to remove or Media/sand blast perhaps?

Artsmart, didn't you torch one of these back in 2016? Aka that gorgeous one in your photo. OP I would go that route for the refinish.

PVD is tough stuff chemicals did not do that.  If you bought this new and it came like that I would contact Bettiniardi and I'm sure they would make it right.  Only way to fix is remove finish by media blasting or hand sanding.

Did you strip the PVD first? My biggest concern with sanding the PVD off is the Honeycomb milling
