was just curious if the "looks" of a golf ball are ever a factor in choosing a ball.  There are days i prefer a more streamlined look to the ball over a heavy font. Not sure why I do, but sometimes it gives me a strange confidence.  Almost like a club at address that needs to "look good", the ball factors in sometimes.  Here are three examples and for me, the TM suits my eye the best.  It comes into play off the tee and not so much while putting.

Is this a factor for anyone else?

Won't use 'logoed' balls. I like to see nothing on the ball when putting.

The only graphics that I think may have something to them are the Callaway Truvis markings.

Makes no difference to me.  I have been switching a bunch lately between a black/green Callaway Truvis and the Taylormade TP.  The only reason I can about the ball color and looks is so I know what ball I'm looking for if I miss a fairway.  Otherwise I can pretty much play any ball out there without much concern.

But I play with guys like the OP who have a lot of preference on what the ball looks like.

I don't mind company printed graphics such as a logo or the Tru-Vis, my issues only arise when I purchase recycled balls or play a found ball that has sharpie marks in every possible direction completely blotting out the alignment line. Even then though, it's just a small nuisance.

Canít play logo balls.  Itís more about how it looks at address.  Similar to how a club head sits at addres...wish this game wasnít so mental

Fine font on a cast urethane ball is preferred. Not sure why...hate the look of TPU balls. Look like toys to me. Loved the Titleist font on the Pro-V, with sharp dimple edges.

That being said, will play what works best, and all things equal, price breaks the tie, since these are disposable objects and will be lost/destroyed.

I donít worry too much about graphics as I will play the Kirkland (somewhat plain graphics) along with the prov1 and Taylor Made tp5x balls. What I donít like seeing is the dimple inside dimple design on some Bridgestone and Topflite balls. Just seems too busy to me.

Not much a factor but I have preferences.

Project a is my gamer but I hate that red (a). I prefer the traditional wording out the name like previous version.

Otoh, Tp5x looks so sleek and nice.

Yes. The primary reason Iíd never play a Snell or Kirkland. The logos look cheap and unprofessional. Iíd greatly prefer simple black script. Multiple colors and weird font are turn off.

The graphics don't matter to me but I don't like logo's, especially ones that take up a third or so of the ball.  Tiny ones I can deal with if I like the ball they are on!  :)

Not too much, but if it's a toss up on performance I'd go with the nicer looking one.
I'm playing Vice balls now and think they look terrific, but I would have just as easily put the Cut balls in play if I liked them more (despite disliking the looks).
I think dimple pattern is actually more important than print. There are some dimple patterns that I can't stand to look at.

Not a fan of the graphics on the srixons but it has been by far the best performing ball for me so I better learn to like it. I feel anything that is a white ball I can get used to with time.

Don't like the logos or truvis. Won't play them.

The alignment mark really doesn't matter, since I cover them anyhow with a sharpie line

Have heard the truvis looks bigger than a regular ball. I don't notice a huge difference but can maybe see it

Prefer not to play logo balls, but even then the ball's performance is the deciding factor for me.

Extensive graphics throw off the c.o.g. of ball due to excess weight of the ink, affects roll too much for me.

My only wish related to how balls are marked is I would like to see more #s - as in higher numbers. About 90% of balls are 1-4, some are 5-8, and a few are 11-44? but how about going up to say 16 and either label them or just leave it random?  Real world - it could eliminate the need for sharpies!

I'd like to see a full diameter alignment aid.
Love truvis. Won't pay for it though, and don't love the balls themselves so much more to overpay for a design.
My ball marking is hilarious to me anyway bc it started as a truvis homage and became disorganized crazy squiggles all over.
But re looks and lettering - TM is nice and clean. Don't love Srixon or Titleist in that regard, but love Srixon balls.
Need a truvis stencil.

I game the soccer balls (CS Turvis) and some UPS logo V1s I got for cheap...... What I hate are any artificial marks on my ball (sharpie, pen, etc) so having something printed on that I can easily identify as mine is a plus. So since I will never mark my ball, logos and designs help.

I prefer the Truvis design for short game focus and putting.  However I have no preference otherwise, brand logo and alignment aids have zero effect.

I do also prefer yellow, not because I play better with them, but they are easier to locate and identify as most of my playing partners are traditional white only.
