Im surprised pros dont change out shafts more often to fit the course they're playin.....kinda like different tires on race cars to fit the track and weather etc....

Car tires are a very utilitarian change though whereas to a pro golfer, a diver shaft is a big feel component as well as a utilitarian one. A car will still have the same performance characteristics with different tires and for the analogy to be accurate, a player's performance characteristics (swing) would also have to remain completely unchanged. A shaft can only impact feel, launch, and spin. As a high level pro with a dialed in and highly repeatable swing you want to find a feel that works with that and stick with it. You can manipulate launch and spin without messing with feel buy changing driver loft, which is exactly what DJ did last week. Loft changes are much less intrusive to the overall equation and give a pro everything they'd want out of a shaft change for performance reasons without messing with feel.

Im glad a pro race car driver weighed in to debunk that theory.  Id bet that hes been testing for quite some time and thought that it gave him the best chance to win this week.  I just hope someone lets dj know he made a mistake.

Imagine if Dustin was using the shaft that Justin Thomas is using. 422 yard drive today.

It has been so long since Titleist fanbois had an orgasm that JT send them all to look for a lube bottle. DJs Hawaiian shot was 15 yds longer
