I think some of you guys are giving the USGA a little too much credit. One exemption, of course, two, absolutely, but who gets any more than that? And no, I’m sorry but I don’t think Tiger will tell the USGA when he’s done. In fact, I could see the USGA taking a stand just to make a point about exactly how democratic they really are.

Provided he remains healthy I don’t think it will be an issue as I believe he will find a way into the top 60 in the world if nothing else, but by no means is it a lock. I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to envision a scenario at some point in the future by which he could be forced to qualify.

Based on limited research it appears as though Jack received eight “special exemptions” and Arnie six, so there is some precedent for it.

I was going to say, Jack and Arnie both had many many exemptions because they deserved them. Tiger will get them as well. You're not going to make arguably the best player ever sectional qualify (notice I said arguably. some believe he is, some don't. Don't make this that thread haha)

Forever Changing at this point.......

He's had every door opened for him in his golfing life, if he isn't in they will change the rules so he is

Yea being black, middle class, growing up on a crappy muni. He's had it so easy. Not all of us could be rich, play at Scioto and get lessons from Jack Grout like Nicklaus did.

Tiger will get an exemption being the Presidents Cup captain...

But its obvious from this thread is that many on here won't be able to face the fact that sooner rather than later, the game will go on without Tiger...I actually think Tiger's ego will not allow himself to accept an exemption if he doesnt have a legit shot at competing at the highest level

Tiger also said he wears red on Sunday when he feels like he has a chance to win. He wears red every Sunday even if he’s 15 back. I think he always thinks he has a chance to win. I agree he wouldn’t show up if he didn’t. I don’t think that will happen.

I’m not a Tiger fan but unless he is playing horrible he should be invited to every event he decides to play. He’s earned it.

It’s hard to believe that I still sometimes underestimate the fandom.

14 Majors and 79 PGA Tour wins

A massive, gaudy, fortune of wins and arguably the best in the history of the game.

He owns 3 US Opens and

The record margin for a major victory (15 shots) in the most dominant performance in the history of the game...at the US Open.

You get this, right?
