We we suspect all of those things but no confirmation of “forgiving” yet.

I'm no expert but they do not look forgiving!

Why? Because it's not a thick block of metal? Supposedly same size as i200 in a slightly slimmer package.....
Hollow iron perimeter weighting...

We'll see I guess

I’ve been refreshing this thread multiple times a day to learn more about these irons and see if they will be the ones to unseat my i20s (which the PXG and 790s both failed to do).  That said, they seem to be more comparable to the PXG 0311T, where the i210s in power spec are the competitor to the regular 0311 - can those who have hit them confim if this is the case?  Anxiously awaiting demo day.

The i20s are my last set and was hoping to find something that would knock them out of the bag ,but to no avail.  I’m actually playing some PTM in DBM finish and loving them right now.  That said, I am interested in these very much.  Here is to trying them.  Can’t wait for tomorrow.

I wonder what happened?  I thought today was the day they were to "officially" release the news regarding the i500 and i210.  Oh well.....  I'm going to my fitting tomorrow anyway, with or without the fitting set.  I'm not sure how that's going to go considering that they've sent back their i200 set, which would be the closest set to the i500 from what I gather.  I guess I'll get fitted for the iBlade and see if they can translate the results to the i500.  Our guy is pretty tight with the Ping.

Anybody have an idea on where the offset will be for these? Similar to iBlades or i200?

Tried these at a demo day last month. Really great clubs, first Ping iron in a long time that actually impressed me. Forged face is awesome, much nicer than the old Anser forged attempts. Launch was similar to iBlades, nice and high. Felt very easy to work, only problem could be these launching too high but did only get to try them with a DG 120 stiff as opposed to X100s. Will be looking seriously into these and thats saying a lot coming from someone who's never played or even considered Ping.

Size-wise , are these slightly bigger iblade?  From pics they seem fairly slim....high trajectory is definitely my need....hit iblade on course but shaft and grip size were wrong.... still saw distance and trajectory gains...

It does fall into the "I" category. So it will be forgiving, just not on a "G" series forgiveness I suppose. Honestly looking at these, and just going off pics, and the 2 Guys Talking Golf with Marty it almost seems to fall into small category where someone may want something in between i200 and iblade, kind of like something in between AP1 and AP2, hence AP3. So maybe these are like the AP3 of the i200 and iblade, a happy medium, small thin forgiving head that fits in between those 2?

Hopefully that makes sense....and it's just a total guess going off pics and 5 minute clip from the podcast.

Just got mine in today. I will be getting a set! They were a little "clicky" compared to my iBlades, but it doesn't really bother me much. Ball flight was great. I am a somewhat high spin player, and these brought the spin down a little compared to my iBlades and distance obviously went up from the lofts being a lot stronger. All in all, I like the i500s. I think they will fit a lot of people who love the iBlades, but want a little more help/distance.

Just saw the i500’s and i210’s in person. I500 looks stunning and feels good for that type of iron.  They are going to sell a ton of these. It’s like an MB, Players Iron, Game Improvement got together and had a baby. I’m not a tm hater but the I500 looked and felt better than the P790 IMO.

Just yesterday I sold the last of my backup and committed to the Callaway Raw MB’s so that saved me $1,300 for now....

Here is some pics I took.

i find when looking down at irons like this to compare, the position of each iron can alter the appearance of size. If you flip them around it changes the perception of the comparison.

Here is some pics I took.

i feel the I500s looked better from address than the p790s but did not feel as soft. this is probably do to being hollow rather than filled with speed foam.

I agree 100%. That was the first time I’ve taken pictures like that and I’ll admit, to get a fair comparison at the address picture is an art. I almost didn’t post them but decided it couldn’t hurt.

you did a nice job! I thought the 500 and 210 were almost identical from the top at address.

Nope, I think most are glad you did, those were some good comparisons.  I believe most here realize the angle difference when looking down at two clubs in address position.
