Appreciate the great photos. Not strictly a criticism, but would it be problematic to move that GWRX watermark to an offset position? It takes away from so many of these great photos, particularly the approach shot angles.

5 was always a great hole (among a lot of great holes); a reachable Par 5 now lengthened in the Pro V era.   What will that new tee do with the pace of play, as players (a) march backwards to get to the new tee and (b) play back across the line of the 18th hole?  Any experience with it yet?

btw; although the day was overcast, these photos are a really nice job.  Very representative of the place.

thanks for sharing

Brings back fond memories of my road trip in 1995 ... played Bethpage Black on early Saturday a.m., a course called St. George's Saturday afternoon, 4th round at Shinnecock on Sunday.

I can actually still remember some incredible shots from that day  .. from Ray Floyd, Jumbo Ozaki, Brett Ogle, Jacobsen, Norman, Elkington, Pavin.  My buddy had Norman's divot in his freezer for a looooong time

The funnest was Tom Watson pretending to be a hack on the range (hitting every scarf imaginable on purpose and joking with the gallery) and the other pro's all watching Daly hit driver

The tees look lovely but the greens are already browns.  I hope they don't go over the top.
On Sundays, I used to play hickory

I know why the corporate tents are needed. I get that. But, my God, in some of those pictures it looks like they're playing in the middle of a small city.

Greens are pure and not anywhere near stressed.  Different strains of grass and there's a lot of salt/moisture in the air.
