Obviously this is just my personal opinion,  but unstructured caps just look sloppy and horrible to me. Just a floppy wrinkled cap laying flat and crooked on some guys head. Looks like they just grabbed it out of an old trash can and slapped it on their head.....  But thatís just me... you may feel differently, lol

I'd rather an unstructured cap than a flat billed one.  Different strokes for different folks.

Unstructured caps went out of style more than a decade ago about the same time as big billowy pleated pants/shorts and tent sized polos.  The only place I ever see them now is on a small town muni.

I know a few guys who wear unstructured caps with a very small "Titleist" logo on them. They will take your lunch money x 100.

Giant hats and tiny pants seem to be quite popular for the up and comers

I can agree with the tiny pants, as I myself prefer tighter fitting pants over baggy ones. But, giant hats? What kinda giant hats are you talking about?

I wish I could go no hat honestly, too much time spent in the military with a hat on for me to care about wearing one. But I hate squinting my eyes when I'm trying to hit the ball.

Got 14 daggum golf clubs, but none of 'em hit the ball straight.

Wish I could wear them but either my head is too big or not big enough because they look terrible on me. Was so disappointed at the Masters this year that they only had 2 or 3 structured hats and most were sold out by Sunday. Add to the fact that my bald head can't support a visor and I am SOL on a lot of the good hats coming out these days.

Semi-structured and un-structured tech-material hats are also a good middle-ground.  My current favorite is a Masters Performance Slouch that looks/feels more modern than a cotton slouch, weighs much less, and holds it shape a little without looking so tall/squared/flat.

I like Jesper's old hats.

Fashionable, and if a bird needed a place to pitch, he could help the little fella out.

"Structured" vs "non-structured" doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the height or squareness of the crown. You can have a structured hat with a low, completely curved crown, for instance.

I'm with the OP. I like a hat with a medium-height crown and structure to it. I don't want my hat looking like I slept on it anymore than I'd want my shirt or shorts looking like that. But that doesn't mean I want a tall, squared-off hat, either.

When you have the perfect structured hat in mind, it's not always easy to find the right fit/look, unfortunately. In that sense, I wish I liked unstructured hats.

Agreed, unfortunately there just aren't enough of these out there... the unstructured or semi-structured tech-material hats are a little easier to find and look better to me than a wrinkled unstructured cotton hat without the high/square crown of the majority of tour hats.  The lighter weight while not picking up wrinkles makes all the difference.
