My Haywood wedges are at the club builder. Getting Paderson kinetixx 125g wedge shafts. When they’re built I’ll post some pics.

They are beauties.

Hey all!

Would love feedback on a prototype we are testing.
Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Our goal is to be able to have a base model set (4-PW) for $600 with options to upgrade shafts and grips of course.

Testing is being done this week but would love to get everyone’s thoughts on the look. We would be offering in black and silver (same finishes as the wedges) so people can have a complete set.

Appreciate any responses and feedback in advance!

Cheers,

JH

Good on you guys for not applying ridiculous stampings on your irons and wedges. Keep that clean look and I would give them a go when they come out.

Raw finish as in the one shown in photos?
lofts will be the standard for a 4-PW which of course we would be able to adjust the loft and lie for customers. Looking at some KBS and some true tempers re stock shafts and then offer upgraded options. Really depends on a few things including pre orders and how many people want to pick their shafts etc so I can build them out specifically for them.

I am building a pre order list out, so if anyone is interested, let me know and I will put you on the list - joshua@haywood.golf

Those look really nice! Will individual irons be for sale? Say perhaps for someone who may want to make a "minimalist" blade setup (4i, 6i, 8i, PW)?

Raw as in unplated carbon steel that will rust over time.

Look great, probably didn't pick the best surface to take pics on! Looks like quite a rounded leading edge or maybe it's just the lighting?

I placed my order yesterday for a 52, length 35.5, 61 degree lie, D6 SW.
Working with Josh and my many requests was a breeze.
I am really looking forward to seeing this beauty in person and trying it out!!
I will report when it arrives.

Josh,
Any chance that you'll offer a stronger wedge, maybe a 48 degree at some point? I like to match my PW to my higher lofted stuff when possible.

Nice looking shape.  Will there be any other engravings or stampings on the back?  Also what kind of timeline for availability are you anticipating?

Hey Ron!

Thanks again for the order.
We are looking at irons right now and they will come in raw and then black and silver to match the wedges.
We are completing our testing this weekend and are trying to decide which club to go with.
Samples are being made up in the 3-4 weeks of the exact irons so once I have them in my hands, I will take photos and then post them here.
I will be taking pre-orders, which will also help decide a few things.

We are looking at offering a stock set, with some standard KBS shafts, and then also offer a made to spec option for an upgraded charge, where if you pre order, you can select your shafts, grips etc, and we will get you a price for the customization as a set, so that when they arrive, they are everything exactly as you want them.

Thanks for the comment and great question!
The only marking on the irons would be the Haywood logo, the same as the wedges.
We have discussed putting forged on the hosel, but personally I think we should keep it as plain and sleek as possible.

Do I took these out to the local practice area last night. My first thoughts: the heads are small, which is not a complaint but a compliment. They are compact and nice to look down at. They are quite soft when struck well. The leading edge is sharp and rounded. I think I’m going to have my club guy ground it a bit square and dull it out a bit.

I didn’t hit any shots farther than about 50 yards but I love the heft and weight distribution. So far pretty stoked.

We would love to get more feedback on the production of our irons - finishes, types of shafts, pricepoint etc.
We have found the head we are going to go with after multiple user testing sessions and feedback.

We would also love to get thoughts on pre ordering as well - what would drive you to be one of the first Haywood Iron owners ?
As a small business, we want to hear from our potential customers (you all) and see how we can make not only the production of the irons, but the ordering of our first sets of irons, a memorable experience for all of our early supporters.

Would you like to see a stock set up, and then perhaps a customization option, where you can pick your desired shafts, grips, etc and have them built out to your specifications once they are produced?

Hit us up and let us know your thoughts! We truly appreciate the feedback and take all of it into consideration.

Oh lord!

Mr Haywood please deliver the above!

As for what I would like to see, the first thing would be make sure you offer them in left handed!

I have to be honest though, my days of blades are now over now I have my Srixons, but if I was still playing blades then I would love the stealthy look. I would suggest you look at things like grips, shafts and ferrules

Maybe having some limited run finishes? I am a sucker for pretty things

Cobra F8+ Aldila Rogue Silver
Callaway Rogue Sub Zero 13.5 degrees Project X HZRDUS
Callaway Apex UT 18 degrees UST Mamiya Recoil ES
Srixon 565/765 4-PW
Cobra King Pur 52,56,60*
Taylormade Spider Tour Red

Overall, I would just say keep the price point reasonable with a couple options for shafts and grips. Raw heads would be fantastic. The one random option that I would love to see is for ferrules.

Not gonna lie boss, these may have to be checked out.

You got a full spec sheet on them with bounce and offset numbers?

I don't right now.
I am still in the process of everything and waiting on the remainder of the samples in different finishes.

Hey all!

Just wanted to let everyone know that our wedges are officially NON-CONFORMING.

They were deemed to have too deep of milling on the face according the 2 different sections in the rules and regulations of the R&A.

It is unfortunate that competitive tournament playing individuals cannot use our clubs, but for everyone else, it is great for you to be able to know first hand that our wedges do in fact produce more spin because of the milling attribute we have added. You can feel more confident with your distance and spin control on chips and approaches and improve your scoring around the green :)

If anyone has any additional questions, feel free to message me directly.

Cheers,

JH
