It takes too long, there are too many cheaters, and I'm not smart enough to play.

Any suggestions on a new hobby to spend my newfound 16 hours a week and thousands of dollars of disposable income on?

P.S. Wife already said no to hookers and blow.

Road Cycling.
Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Interesting you say that ... The last time I quit golf was 13 years ago, and I bought an expensive mountain bike (Specialized?) to start a new hobby then.

Which reminds me, anybody want to buy an expensive mountain bike, only ridden once, 13 years ago?

You might not have enough capital, but seeming;y a lot had gone into golf related business.
Invent a "never miss putter" ?   Putter is the least costly in start up , if you could hook up ( sorry ) with business has CNC milling or raw forging ability.  You might even be able to spin off the putter line by selling head cover and accessories with unbelievable mark up.
Cheap way is to learn how to repair golf clubs.  All the essential equipment will not run you over $10 G.  You could always add more gadgets to the shop later.

Shooting sports can be a similar suck on your time and money.  And easy to take part in during the winter months when golf shuts down if you're in the north.

Learn a musical instrument. I’d suggest the drums, a nice kit runs about the same as a set of clubs.  Drum lessons are much cheaper than golf lessons. You’d get pretty far practicing 16 hours a week.

Triathlon

16 hours a week is plenty.

You’ll need some up front cash for equipment and like golf there’s always new technology that may or may not actually help you, but you’ll convince yourself you need it

It’s as competitive as you want to make it, and on top of that, you get nerves and adrenaline just like golf

Question 1: can i have your clubs?

Question 2: what else do you like to do for fun? What piques your curiosity? Do you have a decent amount of disposable income? I only ask because some of the things we could suggest can cost a bit of coin. Others not so much.

Motorcycles!

I don't golf any more even though I'm in the trade, motorcycle crash injuries make it difficult. Motorcycles are in my blood though, didn't buy my first car until I was 40...

No you're not. A WRXr with 3500+ posts is not your average golfer who can simply give up the game. You may be having a lovers quarrel with the game at the moment, but time heals all. Step away for a week or two and come back and pure a 5 iron to 2 feet and all will be right as rain.
