i noticed that iron set design more forgiving set vs tour set are different in the combination of the loft, for example the forgiving set of irons Titleist 9 iron ended with 38 degree VS CB or MB set 9 iron ended at 43 or 44 degree, the rest of the set seems similar.

forgiving set from 5 to 9 iron seem have larger gap , and pro set usually in 3 degree between.

so what's the relation here?

Distance sells - and the players who need the more forgiving irons are more likely to be searching for more distance in the irons then the better players.
