Spending a week in Maui in July, staying at the Fairmont In Wailea.  Suggestions and recommendations?

Since you're staying in Wailea the Gold and Emerald courses in Wailea are pretty good. You could also drive to Kapalua or take a ferry to Lanai and play Menele Golf course. Kapalua and Menele I'd consider the 2 best to play.

If you like happy hours, the red bar at Gannon's has a really good one from 3 to 8 pm and Monkeypod Kitchen has two happy hours from 3 to 5:30 and 9 to 11

Thank you!  I played Manele in 2014 when I visited Lanai, havenít even thought about the ferry, thatís a great idea.  Thanks for the suggestion.  May try to get out on Kapalua, definitely plan on playing the Gold and Emerald.  Monkeypod is great!  Love that spot!

Most people don't know that you can play Cavendish Golf Course in  Lanai City for free. It's 9 holes no score card, staff or pro shop.

All courses listed are great.  I would toss out Threes Bar and Grill for happy hour/food also.

Is it worth the drive up to play Kapalua?  If I do, with taking a caddy?

Played KAP twice now.  Its worth the drive to do it once though opposite ends ot the island =)    Depend when too can be pricey.  Took a cart both times.  A lot of elevation change but if your in good shape with a caddy it is doable.  Like all Maui courses the wind blows and at KAP it can blow hard, so walking might wear you down faster too..

No need for a caddy at Kapalua. I couldn't imagine walking that course.

No need for a caddie at Kap.  Take a look into King Kamehameha.

I think that if you're a member of another Troon run course then you can golf at King Kamehameha

Give them a call and ask about their ďMember for a DayĒ you will get a tee time. I played at 7:40. Kapalua is nice but I found KK to be more enjoyable.
