What am i doing wrong? I can only seem to hit lower flighted wedges if is a 3/4 swing. It doesnt seem to matter if its a 52, 56 or 60* wedge.

How do i hit them hight like i do when its a full swing?

Do i not have enought speed at the bottom of the swing, am i not releasing hands, HELP?

Any ideas welcome for me to try.

I’m trying to figure out if you are joking with this post.

Why would you expect to hit a 3/4 wedge as high as a full swing wedge?  You aren’t swinging as hard.  How could it go as high as a full swing?  It’s just physics. That’s what happens.

Most good players prefer to hit their 'standard' partial wedge shots lower.  As long as you're hitting them solid, it's not a problem.

If you have to hit one higher, then work on a release pattern that is closer to a lob shot....club head 'feels' like it's passing the hands through impact

So I assume the issue is that when the balls lands it's running out more? I mean flight is cool and all but the only thing that really matters is distance and spin, right?

So is it that the ball is releasing more?

You could always open the club slightly to add a little loft.  Uses more bounce on the wedge.

I am not saying it needs to go as high as a full swing but it needs to go higher. The later posts are helping with tips. I play courses where there are deep bunkers protecting the front of greens and when your trying to attack front pins on short par 4s or 5s from 80 to 60 yards I need a higher/softer landing shot without going out and adding a 64* wedge etc (no room in the bag).

So AOA is too steep, cant increase swing speed much so shallower AOA, less weight transition to left foot and early hands release?

Bogeypro - thanks, simple but good idea, just need to practice on alignment then.

different clubs for different jobs.

Say from 85 yards,

I can hit a full 58 that will be high as crap.  Rarely use that option, but would in the circumstance you describe.

I can hit a 3/4'ish smooth 52 that will come in mid trajectory and 1 hop stop.  -  this is my stock option

I can hit a 1/2 PW that will come in pretty hot  check and release, use this occasionally to go after a back pin.

If you're seeing a lot of shots that are less then a full swing into a front pin over a hazard.. well you hit the wrong shot to put you there.
