I have a chance to buy a decent set of early 2000s vokey wedges. They are in very decent shape. I don't play in tournaments or any leagues. Am I doing myself a dis-service if I get these? I'm pretty sure my old Adams tom Watson wedges are non conforming grooves aa well. Thanks for your input

My gamer is a 30 year old 845 SW.  They're not conforming but love its versatility.  If I were you, I'd get them.

No disservice - even if you want to play in some competitions.   Those are fully conforming under the rules and can be used for 99% of all official competitions that take place.  It's generally only the professional events and the very high level national amateur events that are supposed to use the specific "condition of competition" that would restrict their use.

I think getting advice from guys who are sitting at the computer in their underwear while taking a break from porn is a very solid way to choose clubs. - bluedot

Get them!  I have non-conforming wedges.  They are awesome, but they can shred any non-urethane covers!

I have an old Spin-Milled 60* Vokey from the non-conforming days. I love it! They are not as bad on the covers as I would have thought, but then again, I'm not really making full swings with my LW

My gamer lob is the original Callaway X forged raw with MD non-conforming grooves.  These were the all-time highest spinning wedges.   It is still in excellent shape since it isn't used much.  I also have an unused 56* version.

This! Unless you're playing elite amateur events, there's no reason to avoid them.
