There is a set of cf16 irons on ebay right now and in the picture of the hosels, some of them say "forged cf16" and some say "forged 16".  Is that legit?  Did different runs of these have different stampings?  Anyone know?

Only 7I and above has "CF" cup face technology.  From 6I down it is just "forged 16".

I want to say this is normal. It looks like this set might've been pieced together. Very weird that one of the forged CF16 looks longer than the others. Also, the white paint fill on the words on one of them indicates that club may be 2* upright unless it's been adjusted. I ordered a combo set of CF16/16 Pro from GlobalGolf and they stated they were standard...they came with green paintfill and were 1* upright.

In looking at the club with the longer lettering, it looks like it may be blue paintfill. If so, that's 3* upright so you may have some issues with a couple of these if you need standard or flat. I believe they can only be move a couple of degrees usually.

I think you're on to something, but maybe in reverse?  On their website the 6 iron has the "CF16".

Those pictures are correct.  The 7 iron and higher are "cup faced".  8 iron and shorter are not cup faced.

The cup faced is "springy" and hotter for more distance. They dont do it on the short irons since they are for accuracy.

and yes.... the white lettering is 2 degrees upright on that 4 iron and the 5 iron has obviously been reshafted with a non callaway ferrule.

edit....and what is going on with that shaft label on the 5 iron?  why is it so high? and why one different grip?  Weird set bro.  Proceed with caution.

By the time that auction is said and done with, it may not be close to a good enough deal to take a chance on a set that looks cobbled together and has a lot of browning on the face. Plus, there's around 40 bids, most of them are from very low (mostly 0) feedback bidders, and a couple bucks at a time like they're testing max bids... which stinks of shill bidding.

*edit - also if you look at the low feedback bidders bidding history, most of it is with this seller.

I dont know about this seller shill bidding but ive been watching another seller blatantly use the practice quite extensively recently and its infuriating. Reported it 3 times and ebay does nothing.  Grotesque whorish company that they are.  They couldnt care less.

How about this jackass??  He's listed  this Mizuno head three times now because this shill account of his keeps "winning" it. He did it with another one I watched as well that finally "sold" for a price he liked.  He bids it up with this shill account and if he doesn't get to the price he wants he buys it himself, cancels the bid and relists it.  It just "sold" again a few days ago for about $175 bucks to this account and he ended up listing it again 2 days later.  Its not a different head.  Look at the bid history and retractions.  eBay does nothing.

They'll suspend your account if they think you are trying to make a deal outside of thier site, but they do absolutely nothing with the most extreme cases of abuse one can imagine.  Ive been on ebay for a very long time and ive never run across a case this blatant by an individual.  Occasionly by a company, but never an individual.  This guy doesnt even own a shop. Thats another thing.  I asked him how he managed to have so many new heads for sale if he wasn't a golf shop.  He replied (ill paraphrase)," You nevermind where I get the heads, I can assure you they are legit. Check the serial numbers. If you want to pay full price just go ahead and go to a golf shop".  That was obviously the last time I bothered to email him.  jerkoff and likely a thief.
