Is this an attempt to minimize vibration, while still maintaining the weight and flex characteristics of steel?
On Sundays, I used to play hickory

Interesting. Reminds me of a reversed Grafalloy Epic. The outer tubing made of nickel and the innner layer made of carbon.

Don't ask me...first I've heard of them.

Can assume 105 and 120 profiles there. (ST = 105, DP = 120.)

Love the matte black stealth look. I'm absolutely loving this E11 proto I put in a 3i. But I'd still give these a try. Hybrid10 .350" X-flex ST please! Unless there is a tour125 version...??

I wonder if the graphite is used to strengthen the surface to reduce weakness and resulting head lag.

I dunno, just looks like someone stuck a steel shaft extender in the back of a graphite shaft.  Bad club-making if you ask me.... :busted2:

Along with creating the right profile, Almost certain the graphite is used to strengthen the steel.

I'm not an engineer but I have worked with a lot of shaft companies and designers. Graphite strength to weight ratio is WAY higher than steel, So with steel they can create the profile they are looking for in the hybrid shaft at a "lighter" weight with the steel and then reinforce the overall length of the shaft with layers of graphite.

This isnt the first time they have dome something like this. At one point they made the 750 and I used to work with it a lot! super light weight steel shaft with a reinforce top section from under the grip to about 30% of the way down. Since the wall thinkness was so small this helped give it some strength. but allowed them to still use the light weight steel alloy.

Interesting to see who these are meant for!

Color me confused for now. Will be interesting to see Nippon's commentary assuming these move beyond proto and into production.

Nippon did something similar years ago, but the graphite layer was only on part of the steel shaft. And it was very lightweight.

Interesting.  New twist on Fujikura's MCI iron shafts.

Steel core and grahite exterior as well. The Steel core is a smaller diamerter on the Fuji's however and it doesn't run the entire length of the shaft.
