About 45 minutes NW from Augusta GA in McCormick, SC there is a hidden gem of a place called Savannah Lakes village. It is located adjacent to Lake Thurmond and has 2 courses: Tara and Monticello. I have played both of them and loved them both. Monticello is my favorite course because of how its proximity to the lake. It is incredibly peaceful and scenic. Every time I play there it is a therapeutic experience. It costs 38-47 dollars (except for masters week) depending on the day and its worth every penny and then some.

Has anyone played these courses? I highly recommend them if you are ever in the Augusta GA area.

My go to during masters week. Weak finishing hole(18) but a gem of a front 9.

I played in a tournament here last year and was pleasantly surprised.  Monticello is a great course. I haven't plated Tara yet but i will.

Tara is a little easier than Monticello. It is less "scenic." Only one hole has the lake in view. It is more of a forest type course. It is still really nice.
