First round of league was a 9 hole event, front 9 scratch.

I shoot a bogey-free 2 under 33 ... Lose all focus once the comp is over ... And put 4 balls in the woods on back for a +10 46.

I almost accused myself of sandbagging (4.5 cap).

It seems like, for me, if golf was 9 holes I would post considerably better scores.

It’s almost every round where I shoot par on the front 9, and 8-10 over on the back. Playing off of a 4.6 handicap last year.

So frustrating. Congrats on the great front 9 though!

I feel your pain. I played on Sunday and went (par 72) 35-46. I hit the first 7 greens and was 3 under. I hit one green the entire rest of the round. Swing completely fell apart.

Played Friday afternoon on a hard 9 hole private course I'm a member on a limited basis.  Had my personal best, a 41.  Lots of ups and downs, very fast greens.  Finished with a birdie.  Lovely round.  First thing on Saturday, played a local public 9.  Much wider, easier course with slow greens.  Could not putt to save my life.  Shot a 45 on a much easier 9.  Ridiculous game, golf.

The lowest 9 I ever shot was 36 (par 35). I've been 1 over for 9 plenty of times, but I've never shot under par in my life. Been playing over 6 years now. Jealous of all you guys lol

I went 45-39 yesterday (5/13/2018) on one of my home courses where I usually score in the mid/low 80s. My first round back after months of lessons and some of my most solid range session ball-striking ever yielded 110 (56-54) strokes! I drove the ball well and everything else was as expected a disaster magnified...  It happens.

I recently shot a 35-44. I had 4 birdies on the front, two on par 5's, but couldn't really string good holes together without bogeying one. I went around the turn at 1- under and then proceeded to have four doubles on the back nine. I finally birdied the 17th but it was too late to save my round.

Glad I'm not the only one. I usually play with a group of guys who tee off as soon as they can see as far as they can hit it. Usually before 7am, no range balls. Last couple of scores I can remember were 49-39.

It happens dude. In a 3 day mini tour Pro-Am last year I shot 94, 88 and then on the last day started off with a 50 and then played the back in 34.

I went 50/41 last weekend. 5 balls in the water in a double/triple/quad 3 hole stretch on the front 9.  3 holes in +9. Other 15 holes in +10. Hadn't shot over 85 in the last couple months.

Nice 1st round as this is why I play just 9 holes mostly. I shot my best score today -2 (34) as I was ready to quit after 3 holes only because I was afraid I wold play boogey golf but everything was working for me. If I go out and play a lousy 9 holes I just chalk it up as a bad 9 holes. Not a bad round Lol! I'm getting older and my tennis elbow flares up ever so often so I'm Ok with just 9. Congrat's on a super round
