What is the saying, 'that's a first world problem'.

Well, we do live in the first world. And, pretty much everything you read on this forum could be described as such. What do you suggest we do to eliminate the discussion of first world problems? Perhaps fine people if they do so?

Did you ever complain about the service you received at a restaurant? Did you ever say something negative about a movie you just saw? Did you ever complain about pace of play on a golf course? Did you ever get upset over a poor round of golf? What is the saying..."that's a first world problem".
geez, take a pill. It said somewhat in jest.

How was I to know that? I was unable to discern your intent by reading what you wrote. And, I have seen that statement written enough times where it was not said in jest.
no probs

Just about everything I wear is a different brand, lol

Today-

Shoes-true
Socks-callaway
Pants-wrangler
Undies-FOL
Belt-?
Shirt-UA
Hat-Dorfman Pacific

It's possible I could match two articles as I do have one pair of UA pants and a few ua shirts.....and also a pair of Adidas shoes and a few Adidas shirts.....and one pair if Nike pants and a few Nike shirts.

This topic always strikes me as odd.  Why limit oneself to one brand at a time?  Surely there are brands that can be mixed together to create comfort with the best fit and a unique look!

Do you guys script like the pros do, ie buy outfits that only go together?

Wow.  I was not expecting this much of a response.  I love this group. Haha.

So to answer a few questions. Yes.  I’m the guest.  And the member wants us to have matching outfits so I won’t complain.

I’m the type that can’t wear Nike socks with my Adidas Ultraboosts so this has transitioned into my golf wardrobe.

I’m a true believer that if I can’t play golf good I might as well look good. Haha. Jk.  Kind of.

My wife has "outfits" .  Men shouldn’t have “outfits”.

I have golf shirts, pants, shorts, and shoes, of every brand imaginable.

Also, I don’t wear golf hats. Mainly cause they look more and more like nascar apperal. I wear sport team ball caps, or hats I got from a golf course that’s out of town.

So mixing brands is a hipster thing...I see them wearing Adidas 3 stripe pants with Nike kicks a lot here in LA.

Apparently it used to be a hipster thing to wear matching brands...then it became mainstream. Now the hipsters mismatch brands because of that.

Personally, I don't care. The golf course is not really a place that comes to mind when I think about impressing people with my wardrobe. I don't even really about color coordinating anymore either.

The first time I encountered the word "outfits" for men was on this forum. I thought it kind of funny, given how much machoness there is around. :-)

ps: of course, it could be just another way to rid us of our "toxic masculinity". lol

It's because of this thread I purposely wear different brands.  Ping hat, Adidas shirt, Greg Norman shorts, Nike socks, and Foot Joy shoes. And I don't have any Ping clubs in my bag.

Look good, feel good, play good.

When the weather is nice,  I have to match.   Same brand and same season, so everything matches.

85 and up, I wear Adidas Climachill shirts, Airflow shorts, and Primeknit shoes.  Rain gear is Adidas, so if there is any chance of rain I wear Adidas.  Do not like their belts, so I go with a Nike G-Flex.

45 to 85 I wear UA head to toe.

In the late fall and winter, I’ll pair Bonobos pants with whatever I need to stay warm.

Never been one to match brands too much. As much I would like to have some all-Nike/Adidas/UA outfits, my budget tends to constrain splurging on the bottoms (shorts + pants).

I've found better value in finding shirts that will go with a standard plain beige/black/white/navy/grey pair of shorts than the other way around, so I will tend to focus my efforts on golf shirts (they also will do double duty with my current workplace), whereas if I am looking at a specific pair of patterned shorts, I will try to make sure that they will at least be able to function with at least 2 shirts. Ive been finding that the color matching between brands is not very good, hence my being picky with shorts, or at least settling for a good deal when there are sales.

shoes i never care about matching - i go for what is most comfortable for me because of an old ankle injury. I do tend to stick to UA shorts/pants and shirts mainly because i find them most comfortable. I am also not far from an UA outlet store and i can wear their shirts and pants to work every day. When theres a good sale I stock up and the wife cant give me a hard time, "its all stuff for work".

You’ll typically find me all over the map.  I match colors not brands.  Sometimes I end up all one brand but most of the time it’s mixed.  Just depends on what is clean and what colors I’m wearing.  This past weekend is was Nike shoes, linksoul shorts, UA shirt and a hat from a course.  Sometimes it’s UA shirts, shirt and hat.  Sometimes it’s Linksoul shorts and Travis Mathew shirt.

If things have big brand logos on them, I think about it.  But for the most part my shorts have no brand logo on them.  So mixing with a different shirt and hat doesn’t matter.  I typiccally wear a hat from a course or a hat from imperial which doesn’t have a brand logo on it.  So I guess it’s not really an issue.

Mixing brands doesn’t bother me unless it’s really obvious.  Like a prominent logo on your shoes, shorts, shirt and hat.  That can look off. It’s about colors for me.

Call me what you want.  All of my shirts and shorts/pants are RLX.  I probably could give Billy Ho a run for his money.  Luckily my M/G partner has a closet full of the same stuff so it’s easy to coordinate.  I also have custom belts to match.  For me, how I dress is just part of my equipment and part of the fun of golf.

Same here.  I have a hard time mixing Nike and Adidas.  I’m not a fan of mixing the major sports brand with each other overall.  I have always been a Nike/Jordan guy because of basketball and the image of having Nike shorts, shoes, and then another major sport brand shirt just doesn’t look good to me.  That’s just my take on it.

Put me in the OCD crowd.  I will wear Travis Mathew hats with anything.  Same thing with Foot Joy.  But mixing Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour is a no-go.  I really don’t have an allegiance to any one of them.  My golf bag has five brands in it btw. :D

I have only a few criteria for golf clothing and could not care less about mixing brands.

Affordable - sale or clearance, brand golf clothing is expensive
Comfortable - fits well and is good for the weather
Versatile - I don't go crazy with colors and patterns because I like shirts/shorts/pants to work with a variety of combinations.

Going to blame this “look”on Sergio and i’ve  copied it lately. I only wear two colors, dark shirt and cap with light color shorts or vice versa. No big logo’s, not getting paid to wear this stuff. Needless to say i have an extensive Titleist cap collection that matches up with my shirt colors. Just the simple Titleist logo on front and back, no FJ or PRO V1 billboards on the sides.
Always worn Addidas shoes and never owned a white belt. Just see a lot of guys wearing example: black shoes, grey shorts, red shirt and a white hat. Bunch of diff colors and logo’s all over the place, hate to see golf turned into the NASCAR look.

I tend to wear all Adidas.  Seasonal outfits from the same manu tend to match each in tone if not necessarily in colour.  By mixing brands you are missing out on that clean matching look.
