The Aris logo looks huge and distracting.

And the names??  Hero, captain, scout??  Come on.  Really?

No thanks. Doesn’t work for me no matter what the price is.

Lol what’s your problem?

Problem?  I don’t know if it’s a “problem” that I don’t want to stare down at a giant ugly logo on an important piece of equipment with a stupid childish name.

Must've rolled out of bed on the wrong side.  Isn't it just as stupid and childish to call something stupid and childish when others don't seem to have a problem with it?  My grandfather always said, "Opinions are like a$$holes...everyone has them and most of them stink!"

I like the idea of the poster that mentioned the possible connection to the military.  Sounds like a good possibility.

By all means.  Each to his own. Some people actually bought a “Sasquatch” driver years ago. Some people actually buy “Mojo” balls.

I bet old D-bag Bob Parsons is pissed he can’t use these  “military” themed names if he ever comes out with balls.

Of course his would surely be the best balls ever made and $70 a dozen.  KABOOM BABY!

LOL!!!!  Good comeback!

It’s a new company and it’s trying to base itself on performance combined with price, not aesthetics. Your post seemed to indicate that regardless of performance you would not only never try the ball or even play it. So theoretically it could objectively be the greatest ball of all time...but you wouldn’t play it because of the logo? That seems stupid and childish.

I like these new golf ball companies trying to get more options to the consumer. I think most golfers would like that. Instead you have to basically sh1t on someone’s brand just based purely on aesthetics?

Doesn’t it sound stupid for me to say the titleist script is so beautiful that I would play any ball for any price made by them regardless of price? Oh wait, people already do that.

Ordered a trial of the Hero's and Captain's tonight.  I hope to get them in play before next weekend.  I will let everyone know what I think.

Maybe they could have used something more simple and straightforward like Jagpilotohio:)

Ordered sleeves of captains and scouts on Thursday. Arrived in Missouri today, very quick shipping. They threw in an extra sleeve of captains, a handful of tees, and a thank you note. Look forward to getting these on the course this week.

Had a chance to play the Captain a little bit on Tuesday.  First off, this is a nice looking golf ball, slick urethane cover with a nice logo.  Noticed some slight imperfections in the ball, nothing that would effect playability.  Similar distance off all clubs, seemed to spin well around the greens.  The ball felt slightly firmer than the Snell MTB Black, which is what I was generally playing during the round.  Noticeably louder off the driver, and maybe slightly longer than MTB Black.  I plan on using it for a full round in the near future.  I also ordered the Scout and will try hit it around this weekend also.

Played the Aris hero version today for 9 holes and I was extremely impressed by the performance.    I am also testing the Snell line of golf balls and played the MTB Black on the back 9.

The Hero was very good off all clubs and had a nice feel on the putter as well.  The Aris logo did show some smudging, pictured below, but I did hit 1 cart path and out of 3 bunkers.  The durability of the ball seems decent given the cart path hit and played the same ball all front 9.

I will keep testing the Hero as well as the Captain throughout the next few weeks.  I'm a long time gamer of the Z Star XV, play to a 7HC and have driver swing speed in the 115-118 range.

Really impressed so far with the Aris balls and the Snell MTB line and with both brands significantly cheaper, neither one is sacrificing any playability in my opinion.

Grab some test sleeves and test them for yourself!

Pretty sure Mrs. Gold tried Ari's balls.   Maybe Drama and Turtle but definitely not Vince.

Received my package yesterday.  Ordered a sleeve of Hero's and Captain's.  They threw in Scout's and some Aris tee's.  Also included a handwritten note similar to the one others have posted.  Hope to get them on the course tomorrow.  Will update then.

Captain is 3 piece and Hero is 4 piece.  The captain should be the softer of the ball.

Thanks. I think I will give the Captain a go. A few bucks cheaper than the 4 piece is nice to.

I've been playing both the Snell MTB Black and the Captain the last couple rounds. The Captain is the firmer.

Oh I really do not want anything firmer than the MTB Black. I might just go and buy some sleeves to try them out then. Thanks.

In my opinion the Captain is similar in feeling to the MTB Red.  Slightly firmer than the black. It is still a good ball and worth giving a shot.

Played 18 holes with the Aris Captain on Monday.  This ball performs really well.  The ball is slightly firmer than what I generally play.  After the first couple of holes, I rarely noticed this though.  Feel is firm off the driver, but felt softer off the irons and putter.  Ball exhibited a good amount of spin on short irons and wedges into the green.  Checked up nicely on several 30 yard pitches.  I'm used to playing a ball with a little bit of release, but these were one hop and stopping.  Durability was average, the ball was pretty beat up after 18 holes.  Anybody else get these out for a round yet?

Note: Noticed the Captain was on the conforming ball list today (06/06/18), however, did not see the Hero or Scout on the list.

Trying to get out the next few weeks to do some side by side comparisons with the Aris and Snell MTB Black.  I'm between these 2 balls for my gamer moving forward.

update: I really liked each of the balls they sent, even the matte yellow ball. They held up well, spun great around the greens, driver distance was on point. I would recommend them to anyone. Another great addition to the direct to consumer offerings
