What would be the firmer urethane covered balls? Based on my limited experience, Iím thinking TP5x. What are others? Bridgestone models?

Bridgestone - B330 or whatever they are calling the new one. Tour B X I think it's called.

Srixon z star XV is another great one. Probably my favorite ball. Definitely one of the firmest

Srixon Z Star XV is around 105 compression. I can't think of a ball that still has great green side performance any higher than that.

Maxfli U6X if you can find it is pretty firm. Only sold via Dicks Sportig Goods. They may have discontinued it.

And yet what is weird is it doesn't feel like 105 to me. Been playing this ball for 4 years now and I would describe the feeling as a muted firm. Not hard and clicky at all. Wish it had just a touch more green side action, but I absolutely love this ball.

I don't find the XV clicky, either, but you definitely know you hit something when you strike it.

Newest version is the best ball out there. I’m trying to use up all my stock as I bought about 20 of the performance packs!

TP5X and XV. Definitely firmer and more suited to 100mph plus swings.

Thanks guys. Just ordered the Srixon Z Star XV. Been playing softer balls for the past couple years and want to get back to a firmer ball again. I remember the TP5x being a good ball and wanted to explore this style of ball again.

I tried a sleeve of the Volvik Vivid and was amazed at how firm harsh they were. Gave 'em away.

XT is just as bad, eh ? No reason to try them then.

Any chance you've tried the Vivid Soft ?

for those who prefer firm/hard/harsh feel, Vivid XT would be your bff.  For me, it was too clicky.  However, it flies straighter and spins well unlike surlyn-covered Vivid.  And I made my second eagle with bloody but sexy pink Vivid XT.

Got my first round in today with the Z Star XV and really, really like the ball. I like how it explodes off the face of the driver. It's a little clicky with the short irons but flies true, putts very well. Probably my main ball now. I do want to spend a little more time with the MTB Red soon. But, very impressed with the Srixon.

This will be my second season with it. Very happy.

In a perfect world it could be a hair softer off the putter and short chips, but I don’t think I’ve ever truly found a “perfect” ball.

It does everything else so well that I can’t really nitpick.

Another vote for the 2017 XV, firm but not clicky.

Wasn't a fan of the 2013 or 2015 models but 2017 is so sweeeeet!

If you can find them the RZN black I thought was REALLY firm.

and the feel of XV will continue to grow on you. after having played XV for a while other tour balls will invariably feel much softer (in a weird way almost too soft). on days I play the 2018 Chrome Soft X it feels like a 50 compression the first few holes.

Same. I like firm off the putter because I’m using a spider tour black now. Even a RZN plat I was playing felt super soft to me. Almost too soft but still performed well.

After playing the XV for years, I feel the same way.

The Chrome Soft X and the KSig were the two I tried this year to compare to the XV, and they were like marshamallows in comparison after years of XV
