Hey guys,

I'll be in Iceland around the 10th of May and I wondered what's the best course you've played there (if you've ever played there ahah). Hesitating between Brautarholt and Keilir after Mark Crossfield's reviews...

Give me some feedback !

Will do, still need to decide which golf course I will play. I think Brautarholt is nicer but it's only a 9 holes

Played golf in Iceland in August a few years back. I cannot remember the name of the course but to be able to play at 11pm in sunlight was amazing.

Iceland is one of my dream trip.
I know that in august there's a tournament which tee times are at midnight.
There are a lot of courses for a small island.
Enjoy it and let us know how it's playing there!

Alright boys, just came back from my trip. It was AMAZING. As for golf, I played Brautarholt on their first day (opening day). The conditions were very nice but the grass on the green was a bit long (the course manager told me it rained and lot and didn’t have the opportunity to cut the grass due to heavy rain the week before).

The course : a 9-hole near Reykjavík. 4/9 holes are along the sea with a stunning view. The course is quite short but very technic to play

The clubhouse : nice, very unique style and surrounded by welcoming people ! I rented a set of club, they were quite old but matched my requirement (all were stiff as I asked)

See some pictures I took there below IMG_1526255533.745901.jpg IMG_1526255548.945311.jpg IMG_1526255568.989870.jpg IMG_1526255630.024677.jpg IMG_1526255653.813036.jpg

Thank you guys ! Honestly if you have the chance to play a round on seaside golf, do it. I honestly think the atmosphere is special in Iceland. Having the volcan rocks  and the sea on the same landscape is insane. If you go in the summer, you'll have the chance of having no sunset and light all day long : technically you can play golf at midnight and I've been that's crazy.

Yes it is really cool! About 5 years ago my wife ran the marathon in Reykjavik so we went for 10 days or so. Once she was done with the race we had a few down days to wander around and we decided to play a few rounds of golf. We had not planned on playing so we didn't have any shoes or clothes or anything. We had a rental car, just rented clubs, bought some cheap balls and went for it. We played 2 rounds: once at Keilir and once at Sudurnes. The Keilir course was pretty neat as it has held the Iceland Open on the Euro Tour. There were pictures of Justin Rose and Ernie Els, etc. all over the clubhouse. It was pretty cool. The front 9 was linksy along the ocean and the back 9 was all through the lava rocks. It took us a while to figure out that the yardage markers were in meters, and to the front of the green, not the middle... needless to say our first few approach shots came up well short. The Sudurnes course has a famous par 3 that is a 200 yard carry over an inlet of the ocean. Both were awesome to play and it was a great experience, I would recommend it to anyone that happens to be there on a trip. They even had left handed rental clubs, although the pro shop guy at one of the courses had to go down to the basement to find them. They were pretty old and dusty and he said he wouldn't even charge me to use them, as they were in pretty rough shape! It did not matter at all to us, we had a great time.
