Why is he playing in Spain? Has the PGA stopped inviting him to play? I heard recent tournaments were not happy with him for not showing up on time etc.

can you blame them? the guys a joke.

What I cant believe is that there are equally as many topics about this goof as there are about quite possably the best golfer ever. Why are we giving him the time of day? Hes not any better then a mediocre mini tour pro. If he hadn't played the best golf of his life in a few majors no one would know who he was, this is exaggerated because he is soooo freakin stupid with his actions. Really who in the world wears no shoes or shirt to play golf? This game is about tradition respect and honesty....he demonstrates zero of these few qualities

My $.02

Been watching it all week, he has some good moments but you can tell that he needs help with his game, seems to me he's trying to over power the course and it's not working (jimenez hit a 3 wood on a 226yrd par 3, daly hits a 6 iron!!!!! and pulls it all the time)

Only time will tell again.

He gets appearance fees in Europe and probably could use the fast cash with all those ex-wives.

Daly is one of the nicest guys on Tour, there is a reason why he has such a large following. Sure he hits it a long way but he is as down to earth as you will ever find in pro sports. A few years ago I was at Grand Cypress with my 10yo son and a buddy for a long weekend playing golf, Daly was sitting at a table with a few people there, he was signing 8" x 10" pictures for an event he was doing the next day. I was standing about 15' away telling my son to go ask him for an autograph which my son refused to do, Daly saw me trying to coax him over to him and decided to call him over, my son walked over to the table, Daly put him on his lap signed a picture for him, signed a ball for him and talked to him for a good 10 minutes. Later that day he saw us on the putting green after our round and yelled over to my son and called him by his first name.

Its sad the way he allows himself to blow up, get DQ'd and he does some stupid things but I still rout for him every time i see him because he's a genuinely nice guy that has some issues.

I guess some of us still care and hope he gets his act together because he is a nice guy. The enablers think it is cool that he gets drunk, gets fatter being a free spirit. they are doing him no favors. Sadly he is letting his talent slip away.

Daly is a bit like Elvis. Super nice guy on the path of destruction.

Ditto. Its sad what he's done with the talent he has. The guy won a PGA and British Open!!!

Its even sadder that he's becoming a caricature of himself (the video from last week). Why would he do something like that?

I feel bad for Daly but at the same time I am mad at Daly. I have dreams of going pro in a couple years and to see a guy with as much talent as almost any guy on tour waste it kills me.

if he would put down the beer, and pick up the club. get a coach and really try and care, not creat a spectacle. such as playing topless, then he could be a contender. if not he is going to become more and more of a joke.

Not sure why John Daly seems to be a bigger deal in news in general rather than football/basketball drug users.

That could be said of teachers, doctors, lawyers, nhl/mlb players, parents, judges, college students, high school students, real estate agents, grocery store managers, cake makers, musicians, auto mechanics, pizza makers, etc...

The drug "problem" in america is not just black basketball/football players, but it is a societal problem period.
