i vote for the ping tour wedges. i tried the tp y cutters and while they spun like mad i disliked the trajectory(lower than the reg rac wedges) and they absolutely destroyed the golf ball

TM RAC's, Cleveland CG10, Vokeys, Mizuno MP Series.....they are all great wedges. If you are a single digit handicap, you know what looks good to you and what conditions/courses you play most often. Wedges have different characteristics, i.e., loft, bounce, etc. You need to determine your distance needs and what type of shots you play, as well as course conditions (normal) that you play.  I still use an old Cleveland 588 RTG lob wedge that i've had in the bag for 6+ years, just haven't found anything else I feel comfortable with. What I'm trying to say is that everyone is different....go with what works for you. There are soooo many GOOD wedges out there....try a few & find what works best for you. Good luck!

Bridgestone J33's.  That sole grind is marvelous, and they're SOLID.  I just bought a pair of these, and they're going to kick my old Ping M/B's out of the bag, it appears.

2nd place - Ping TOUR.  Great feel, and sole design as well.

  Hi, maybe try the macgregor wedges with the fat soles to prevent digging into the turf.
As a single digit handicapper you will probably have no use of these as you probably strike the ball consistently.

I can make no more reccomendations except for oodles of spin and feel go for either
1) mizuno mp t series raw haze
2)Nike TW wedge

otherwise i have his advice

1)Pick something you fall in love with on first go. these usually give you loads of confidence and replace thinned or shanked shots with beautiful little chip and runs or long pitches
2)Try everything you can and give them marks out of 10 in accuracy, feel, looks, distance, etc. in a notepad
3) Do not opt for a rusty wedge over a chrome etc. Tests show the finish makes no difference.
4) Talk to your pro and find a loft but most importantly a bounce to suit your game.
5)DO NOT BUY A SECOND HAND WEDGE UNLESS IT IS BARELY USED. AS WEDGES ARE THE MOST USED CLUBS IN A GOLFERS BAG YOU WOULD NOT LIKE TO BUY A USED VOKEY TO FIND THERE IS A SILVERISH SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CLUBFACE (USUALLY BRIGHTER THAN FACE) . THIS AFFECTS BALL FLIGHT
6) LAST BUT MOST CERTAINLY NOT LEAST GET SOMETHING THAT CAN GET YOU OUT OF ANY BUNKER. IF IT CANT DONT BUY IT!

good luck!!! :)

you gotta consider ping tours. i mean for $100 you can get exactly what you want - length, lie, swingweight, finish, grip size. and for another measlyl $15 get just the right grind to fit your swing.

The Ping Tours are very nice and you can get them to your specs and grind - even a sponsor, discountdansgolf, will sell them at a great price.

I have them in Z-Z65 softstepped and they are working well.

wedges like putters are so personal that don't believe anyone's suggestions...the only one that works is the one you've matched to your swing...
Didn't mean to sound sarcastic, so...
Just to add...variables that determine which is best, in addition to your swing (steep or flat), include the conditions of the sand (soft, fluffy and deep sand typically likes a lot of bounce vs. hard, gritty and shallow which likes less bounce) and the turf (hard pan vs. lush grass)...

None of this focuses on your preferences for the weight (total and sw.) of the club.

Cleveland 900 gunmetal:Best overall wedge, too bad discontinued

Cleveland CG10 Black Pearl:Best Feeling, tons of spin, but finish wears kind of easy. My wedge of choice.

Vokeys:Will always think they feel like rocks, but have tons of custom options

just my opinion

I really like my Callaway Forged+ wedges but there are a lot of good wedges available just now. Other favourites of mine include the Mizuno MP-T, Vokey Spin Milled, TaylorMade TP and Ping Tour

I haven't found any wedges made in the last 6 or 7 years that are any good. I am a professional golfer and have tried everything and i am sticking with cobra trusty rusties. they have a nice low trajectory and the set up unbelievably well when you grind of the bounce on the heel. They dont have a hot spot like vokies so you dont get that jumper on the 40 - 60 yard shots like you do with a vokie. There is nothing more frustrating than wedges that are inconsistant. :D  Another good setup is the old Ram Watson grinds. and you can get them cheap on ebay.
