CBS tape delayed coverage of the RBC was absolutely the worst TV tournament coverage that I've ever seen!

Even with tape delay and editing, the number of shots between commercials was the worst.  One or two shots, then 2.5 minutes of commercials.  Probably the fewest golf shots per hour that I've ever seen on televised golf.

It's unbelieveable how few players & shots were shown.

Then there was the 16th hole.  When they left for commercial,  List & Poulter had missed the green and Kim had a birdie putt. When they came back, they showed Kim tapping in for par.  No coverage or word on what Poulter & list did.  (They made bogies, taking them out of contention).   Results of 16 were never even mentioned by the announcers!

How does CBS edit out this pivotal swing in the leaderboard????

This has to be the low point for CBS golf coverage.....

That 16th hole coverage was a debacle.  In CBS’s “defense”, they ended up airing a tournament where they knew before airtime that the outcome would be determined by two foreign guys that no one outside of GolfWrx had ever heard of.  They just wanted to get done on time and get out.

Anyone who has read any of my post will know that I am not anti American. None of you know me so you will have to take it on face value when I state that I am not anti anything in general, except stupidity. You are all from a very big country and have your fair share of every trait. I open with that statement so that I can say this.

Your golf coverage sucks. Announcers who think that they are the product, yes you McCord. Commercial breaks every couple of minutes. Only following the leaders to the detriment of everyone else on the course, except Tiger. My pet irrational hate is how they put the biggest name as far up the leader board as possible despite billy no name coming in with the same score way before. I once saw the size of the leader board increased just so they could squeeze Tigers name on the bottom.

I know this because I have seen it myself so many time, why? Because I watch the PGA Tour religiously, because it is on, on an evening, after I have finished for the day. Shriners, I'll be there, Heritage, Valsparo, love them all. but boy is it a challenge to sit through.

To me it's like watching the Browns play the Cardinals four days after the Super Bowl.  I just have zero interest in the RBC the week after The Masters, so it could have been covered by Nickelodeon and I wouldn't have cared.   It just dawned on me as I was typing this that I don't even know who won.  In fairness there aren't many tournaments I would be interested in right after they leave Augusta.

Watched Brooke Henderson win Saturday, watched Euros on Sunday morning. After finding out Poulter didn't win, enjoyed skipping the replay.

It seems like they care less about the standards and quality of coverage on these lesser watched tournaments....

Plus it is hard to keep interest when a Si Woo Kim and Sato-who? (Satoshi Kodaira, lol.) are the two you're watching towards the finish.  Bryson could have kept it more interesting if he hadn't blown it on Saturday.

Me, being Korean actually really enjoyed watching a Korean dude vs. Japanese dude in a playoff, can't imagine seeing another one for a long time if ever.

CBS has had the worst coverage by the major networks for some time now. Even the Masters coverage is awful and you can argue is ranked only 3rd best of the majors, only slightly above the PGA and behind the US Open and Open Championship.

I knew it was going to extra holes holes because they were finishing up 18 and it was only 5:30

CBS golf coverage is suffering from a severe lack of talent ... who knew Peter O and Feherty would be so missed.
But who knew Pepper and Nobilo would be so bad.
And that slob Lance Barrow couldn’t produce a kid with Lindsey Vonn let alone a decent golf broadcast

I'm an American and I agree with your entire post. I wish they'd cut back on the "broadcast talent" save money and maybe show more golf and fewer commercials.

As for this weekends coverage it plain sucked. Instead of showing golf live they showed some sh!ty prerecorded infomercials. By the time coverage started the tournament was a foregone conclusion. No need for me to watch. I'm guessing ratings were rock-bottom, so the tournament advertising sponsors got porked as well.

I've already emailed my displeasure with their coverage and suggest others do the same. Go to CBS.com then scroll to bottom, under "information" select "broadcast feedback."

With the extra editing time provided by a tape delay, one would expect a better broadcast, not a worse one.  This case just showed the total lack of interest in good golf coverage by CBS.  They chose instead to chase revenue by all the commercials.

I thought it was dominated by commercials, with a few golf shots thrown in every now and then...they have to make up for all that commercial free time during the Masters.

I've said this before, but who watches live TV - especially golf? I always tape it and watch it later - fast forwarding through the commercials. Don't check scores until after the event.

The only way to make your opinion matter is to not watch (especially if you're a Nielsen home).
