And now, it is no longer an "untold" story.  I'm very glad that this is out there.  I always like more information, as opposed to less.

I am so glad that this story came out because Patrick has done so much for the AJGA behind the scenes that he doesn’t speak of, doesn’t include in his PR packets & blurbs and prefers that those around him do not speak to because he has said to me that when he sees and hears about the charity/good will work of others, it seems manufactured and self serving. He also has donated tens and tens of thousands of dollars to juniors and their parents so that they could travel to the larger UJGA tournaments when their parents otherwise could not have afforded the cost of travel, food and lodging(many families do not have “host” families). His attitude is that with the money that the guys on tour make, they SHOULD assist others and especially those who do not belong to clubs and can easily afford the AJGU lifestyle, that this is the LEAST that they should do to give back to the game that has given them all so much

On another point and I just remembered this but in the Golf.com thread someone mentioned that Tom Watson would not care for Patrick’s attitude or persona and nothing could be further from the truth. Aside from the fact that Patrick, as a rookie, was Tom’s most successful player on the 2014 Ryder Cup team with a 3-0-1 record and a team high 3.5 points out of a possible 4 points, Tom absolutely LOVES Patrick’s attitude and personality. The individual who said this obviously has never spoken to Tom about his feelings or opinion regarding Patrick Reed. Tom is one of Patrick’s staunchest allies and supporters from the “old guard.” :) M

What a great guy because you never hear any publicity about him helping with AJGA, which is probably how it should be and how I'm sure he wants it to be until now.

hi PLHR :) I’m really surprised that this came out because he really does not like to talk about this but I think that Justine, Josh or someone in his inner circle gave Stephen the green light. That’s great because as you said, and I understand Patrick's side about not publicizing charity work,  but he needed something to counter all of the garbage :) M

That's awesome that Patrick Reed is so devoted to junior golf.  The money he raises and provides for his tournament is very honorable.  People should realize that each person has different stories to tell.  Heck, Ted Bundy saved lives by working on suicide hotline and convincing people they should live.

I don't think his personal business should be discussed by the media especially after a Masters win.  Its unfortunate the golf world has been infested with the tabloid mentality.  Overall who knows what went on and what didn't.  I enjoy watching him play and he's a ryder cup beast.  I do think it's poor form on his parents part to talk to the media like they have.  That only serves to make matters worse rather then give a response similar to Patrick which is to ignore the question and move on.

Didn't Phil wear the green jacket to Waffle House? And we see Reed getting beat up on Instagram?.....LOL.....If I had just won the green jacket, all I'd be asking is "Where's YOUR green jacket, MF'er?'......Green jacket, half a dozen PGA Tour wins, stellar Ryder Cup record, all before 30?????.........Don't the haters really wanna be  Patrick Reed? Any of you bitches say you wouldn't, you are LYING!.........

You need to get your facts right, buddy.  Phil wore his jacket to the Krispy Kreme drive thru.  Huge difference.  Bubba was the one that went to Waffle House.

EDIT: And my other personal favorite with Phil is when he admitted I think on the Tonight Show that he had worn his jacket "to bed," which was both equally awesome and cringeworthy in that I had to imagine Phil joining the Mile High Club's distant cousin - the Green Jacket Club.

Saving the article to read for later, but I'm really coming around on this guy. I love the way he competes and he seems to be very respectful of his competitors. Not much more you can ask for. Woods has done unspeakable things in his past, but most of us forgive and cheer for him now right?

Edit: Just read it, seems like nothing but pure class if he's willing to support the young players of the future. Never hurts to invest in these kinds of things.
