All (more specifically those who own a launch monitor and have an indoor setup),

My wife has given me the ok to buy a GCQuad and put a home practice area in our unfinished basement.  In my opinion GCQuad is the best for both indoor and outdoor use as well as club data, but my questions are not about GCQuad vs Trackman/others.

My question is to those that have spent the $$$ and bought the hitting mat, impact screen, projector and launch monitor.  Did it get old, did you stop using it after the excitement wore off?  I am really wanting it for the 4-5 month winter period here in MO, but also look forward to doing my own club testing, etc.

I am struggling to pull the trigger, I just don't want to spend that kind of money and then a year later regret it because I do not really use it.  I know the honeymoon period will be great, but what about after the honeymoon?

I tend to use my gc2 setup only in the winter and early spring. Maybe about 4 months during the cold/snow.

The quad is a great option but it does limit you to FSX software vs using bluetooth and playing The Golf club on a gc2. I have both and prefer TGC.

We play a 10-12 man golf league in the winter. So mine gets a ton of use when its cold out.

Haven't used mine enough to answer your question - but if you are interested in playing some of the sims out there (and not just practice), you might want to do a bit more research before picking the GCQuad.   There seems to be some question on whether Foresight will integrate GCQuad with any/many of the 3rd party sim software.

I have the gc2 and use it quite a bit when practicing not as much in the summer but, I hardly ever play the simulator software anymore.  I just power on the unit to get carry and spin numbers when I practice

I use it all the time.  I've had a simulator of some sort for at least 6 years or so.  I've had optishot, p3proswing, Rmotion, Skytrak and now a GC2.  I thought i would be fine with just range at first but that got old and I bought the TGC software.  They have ongoing seasonal tournaments and it's great to be able to play when the weather sucks which here in Mi lately seems to never end.  Anyway, if you think you may be interested in simulator play, you may want to skip the quad and go with a GC2, otherwise you will be stuck with only their software options which are quite expensive.  GC2 has options to play other 3rd party software at a better cost.  Also, if you're quite busy and have a hard time getting out or live in an area that has a short season, having a sim that you can use anytime is really nice.

Thanks for the input guys.  The idea of running a winter league is very attractive and would keep the usage up.

I love mine.  I can go out for 30 minutes and just hit wedges, or play 9 on the simulator.  I have a pretty basic setup (no projector screen or projector yet) but I'll get there.  I just use a 40" tv and a hitting net.

I'm looking forward to getting more practice in over the months.  I wish I had a quad for clubhead data, but I am in no position to complain about being lucky enough to have a GC2

Does anyone know if the FSX 2018 software will work with my Macbook Pro.  Everything on the website says PC, but Apple store has the Performance Fitting app.
