I say "finally" because I get too busy to try out a lot of clubs. And, given the price of these modern drivers...I like to do my due diligence before dropping that much coin. Tried several drivers a little over a year ago with a local fitter and ended up keeping my old RBZ driver as it seemed to perform just fine in comparison. Then, I recently tried a G400Max, 10.5, S-flex and, wow, that club really performed. I noticed the trajectory to be a little high for my liking. But, I also noticed that the ball launched high and didn't come back to earth for a long time. Getting with our asst. club pro Saturday to see if we can fine-tune the setup a bit regarding shaft and loft. Really like that club, though. Not a big fan of the composite-crown clubs, or I'd probably already have an M2 or similar, like my son plays. My buddy plays an Epic and does well with it.

Anybody playing the G400Max and having any input, appreciated.

There's another thread on this but I'll indulge.

I have the same observation on the flight. My set up is the same head but in a regular shaft; my average SS is 100 mph.  I get a high flight; more towering than my 16* 3w. It hangs in the air for a while and then drops out of the sky with not a lot of roll out. But it's very consistent in terms of the shot shape and distance.

I've turned the loft down a degree as an experiment and got a little lower flight but again not much roll on the landing. This kicked the Epic out of the bag for normal play.

Played 18 last Friday with G400Max for first time in bag. 10 of 14 fairways. One I dead pulled into woods, operator error. Of the other 3, off fairway, rough/1st cut, definitely playable. Plus saw some distance gain, not a lot and given wetness of course, no roll out. 10.5° with R flex Alta 55CB shaft, std length. I'll play around with settings, but neutral settings were nice trajectory, for me. Replaced a Ping K15.
Driver - Ping G400 Max 10.5°, Alta CB R flex R, stock length
FW - Adams XTD Ti 5W, 18°, Matrix Red Tie R, Toski Target 7 wood, UST Proforce V2, R
Hybrid - Pinhawk SL 4h, UST Proforce V2 R, 37.5", 62.5° lie angle
Irons - Pinhawk SL 5-7, FST 90 steel, R, 37", 63.5° lie angle, 8-SW FST 115 steel, R, 36.5", 63.5° lie angle
Putter - Original Odyssey #7 XG w/ SuperStroke Flatso 2.0, red paint by Continental Golf

I went to a demo day last week and just hit the G 400 Max for the hell of it and now I'm going to get one.
I will say the ball just hangs in the air forever. I hit a hit ball to begin with but this was crazy straight and long .
Going to go with a 9 degree and put it up 1 so i'm not shutting the face with going with a 10.5 and dropping it down.

You’ve got that backwards - adjusting up will close the face, going down will open it.

I went with the 9* head and hzrdus yellow shaft in stiff and my ball flight dropped much lower than with the Alta shaft.  I prefer this here in Florida to keep the ball out of the wind and take advantage of the hard fairways for lots of roll out.
Subject to change at any second...

Ping G400 Max 9* w/ HZRDUS yellow
Titleist 917F2 16.5* w/ Diamana blue
Titleist 816H1 21* w/ Diamana blue
Ping Iblade 5-PW w/ DG 120 S300

Got it on order. G400Max, tuned to 8 degrees, Ping tour stiff shaft. This club felt really great in the fitting today. I did also get a Rogue in my hands and it is a pretty nice driver. The pro I worked with is really great and gave me a great swing tip that had me smashing em at the end of our session. Was using some doppler ball tracer in the session, which is humbling on face/path data.
