Yep!!

I honestly don't think there is much difference between those MacGregor blades and a 'modern' set of blades. They are pretty much what National Custom are selling or similar! The long irons might be a tad harder to hit but I rarely take them out, reverting to either the eye 2 (when not in comps) or some Mizuno Fli-Hi 2, 3 and 4 irons. The wedges are virtually the same as anything out now (Gauge design are only a few years old), just slightly different grinds which I am comfortable with. Putters are all personal preference, I don't often take the Tad Moore TM-6 out but use a host of others generally in a Anser/Newport style with slight variations. Woods, I'd take the Bridgestone and TEE up against anything out now and the Cleveland and V-Steel are downright classics that aren't far behind!

Play what you like, what suits your eye and what you have FUN with...

Tad Moore by Dunlop Blades 5-PW - X100 (Soft Stepped)

Stainless Steel and they feel great. A little more forgiving than some of my other blades due to the wider sole too. I need to get the lofts/lies sorted as the lie is slightly off for me and I think some of the shorter irons have been bent strong for one reason or another but they could easily become a regular fixture in my bag!

Sonartec SS 2.5 17 Degree - Enzo Zone 70 X flex

This was a cheap experiment that has turned out superbly. I can hit a great stinger type fairway finder with it that runs forever!

Play what you like, what suits your eye and what you have FUN with...
Pro 82s believe it or not one of the few sets of Mac irons I DO NOT own--- Guess you know they are rumored to be Miura forged
Old V-Steel with a Pro Force 65--- That was my shaft for years in fact that is what I had in all my V-Steels-- Got too darn old to swing them anymore
Don White ground wedge-- What's NOT to like??
Had seen a lot about older Ping bags on here yours included-- The only Ping Bag I ever owned (still have it) is one of the white staff bags from the 90s--- Until last Saturday night. The wife and I went out to eat and stopped at a Goodwill that we do not go to much. I found an older Ping stand bag that had plenty of storage and was light. WTF? for $9.99. Of course I bought it. It was in excellent shape and all the zippers worked. It does have a big school logo of a big W on the pocket and "Eagles" on the side. It really cleaned up nicely and the top padding has no wear at all. I did the research and came up with it is an original Hoofer from the 80s. I swear looks brand new--- Yep my stuff is in it for Saturday most of it my signature but may change the irons to my Diamondback 57 Macs have not made up my mind yet

I think you may be a lot like me in having so many great clubs that the decision of what to play is hard

And as I read on I thought it could not get any better---
Tad Moore blades----- Do not know if you are aware but Mr Moore is over on the classics section from time to time and converses with us like any over WRXer. I have learned a lot about clubs from reading and conversing with him over the years

Cleveland 588 wedge--- I am very fond of them having 20 or 30 of them

Man you need to post more one of the more interesting threads I have seen outside of the Classics forum for a while

The ferrules on the Mac 82's and the 'Cleveland' style white stripes on black are from here;

http://cellparts1.corecommerce.com/

And the red/white/blue ferrules on the Tad Moore irons are from here;

http://www.18aday.co...ategory&path=59

Both are good quality, the ones on the Mac 82's are probably my favourites though.

I'm in the UK though so it sucks having to pay shipping and import taxes on them!

My 'Emergency' boot of the car set, mainly used down at the range. If I take out on the course I'll often just take a half set.

4-wood;
Titleist 975F 16.5 - X100

This is a favourite, and I regularly consider putting it in my main bag whenever I hit it, but usually think it's just a bit too short. Might use it as a replacement for my 5 wood?!

Feels so good.

Irons;
Mizuno TP19 2-9 - S400

As per stock orginals, bought second hand. Mid and long irons are awesome, not as keen on the appearance at address of the short irons though.

My Faldo sticks to counter the Norman blades.

Wedges;

Mizuno MP-T Raw Haze 51/53/56/60

Taken a file and a blow torch to these. Needed abit of lead tape after I'd had my way...

Great looking and feeling wedges. I'm surprised Mizuno wedges aren't more popular.

A man after my own heart--- I will take a grinder and lead tape to a wedge in a heartbeat. What kind of bag is that in the Emergency set ? I may be switching from my pick up truck to a SUV and I basically want to do the same thing you did here. More than likely with my 58 Diamondback Macs

It's an old Ping Moon bag. Great for saving space in the boot of the car and super light. The only downside is the top doesn't have a fixed/solid ring/rim (if that makes any sense) so it's sometimes abit of pain getting the clubs back in the bag when you've got more than a half set in there.

One of my all time favourites, may actually go in the bag for competition rounds as I've been hitting it so well (improves my focus I think and an awesome shaft...) and I also hit it the perfect distance for a few tee shots at my home course.....and it has my favourite headcover to go with it!

Titliest PT - 17 Degree - True Temper EI-70 (Tour X Flex)

I've got a matching 15 and 20 degree at home too.

Taylormade Forged Prototype - 56 Degree - S300
Cleveland 588 Tour Action RTG - 60/64 Degre - S300

As with the irons, I'm under the impression the Taylormade wedge is Miura forged. It seems to be from the X300 FCI/Firesole Forged/300 series era so the Miura connection is probable but I've not been able to find much more info on it. What makes me believe the Miura stories are the similarities in finish and feel to both the MacGregor irons and some other Miura wedges I own....sweet!

It had absolutely tons of bounce on it though, so I've taken a file to it...needs cleaning up abit now I've got it close to where I want it.

Radius Classic 3/6.

A couple of classy putters I've recently purchased and had out to test, both were great but I especially like the No. 6, it's like a squashed Ping B60 that feels like a Scotty. Nice headcover too.
