I am a picker of the ball and my misses are thin hits. Are the AP1 718 irons good for pickers? If not, maybe some of you have suggestions for pickers of the ball.

I'm also a picker, very rarely do I take much of a divot. I tested about all the big names Ping G400 - I200 - G700, Callaway Rogue and the list goes on and on. But the iron that came out on top for me was the 718 AP1 and they were the furths from my mind. If you're looking at ordering a set get the Nippon N.S. Pro 880's not a up charge. Great shaft.

If you can try going to a Titleist Thursday fitting.  It is free. they have a Trackman, and a lot of shafts to try.  I found the TT AMT Black R300 fit me best.

I heard that is the way to go. I am looking at the schedule here in the northeast PA area.

I am a picker.   I went to a Titleist Thursday and the fitter suggested to me that AP3 will be better for me because it will provide better turf interaction.  YMMV.

Great choice. OP, also look at MP18MMC as another option.

I'm also a picker.  Getting along great with the 716 AP1.  I assume there's very little difference between 716 and 718 with regards to turf interaction.

I have 718 AP1 and a picker as well. For me, these feel the best when I have a clean strike/pick. Love the flight, distance and the drop and stop with these. I thought about AP3 but like the extra forgiving heads of AP1.

Since the OP asked for other suggestions too, I'd be interested in a few other experiences other than those of you with Titleist.  Thanks!!

For me, no.   I had much better results with my 712AP1s.   To me, it felt like the 718s have a more cambered sole.   It can work for the right swing, but I'm accustomed to the 712 sole I guess.   The fitter actually steered me to the AP3s seeing my divot pattern.
