Hi guys,

how are you? I am currently bagging a Ping Vault Olso Mallet. As I am currently using 2 golf bags, for the two places where I mostly play, I am in the looks for a new mallet.

If you were not to look at money, what are your top 3 choices for putters in 2018? I think I am more inclined to get another mallet.

I am mainly using a Straight Back putting swing, claw grip. I have even considered center shaft ones but there is so much choice...

Thanks!

Gio

For a mallet style I will try to give 3 different options with 3 different price points. At the affordable level I would suggest the $109 Cleveland Huntington Beach #11. IMO it is hard to beat any of Cleveland's Huntington Beach line for the price. For the $200 range I would suggest the Odyssey O-works Tank #7. and for the $350 range I would suggest a Scotty Cameron Select either the Fastback, Squareback, or Roundback depending on which fits your eye.

TP Mills Sycamore or Nellie, could be options. Not sure they are considered the best but I do love my Nellie. Bettinardi has good options too.

I have a Oslo Vault as well.  I would say it's tied the best putter I ever used.  Right now Bobby Grace F-18 is my gamer and Oslo is my back-up

For a mallet I would check out the futura line from Scotty Cameron. I'm sure there is mallet that would fit you in that line. my next choice would be a taylormade tour spider. After that piretti or bettinardi. There are lots of good putters out there

The Scotty Futura 5MB is not as pretty as the classic Scottys but, for a mid-mallet, it flat-out performs.

Thank You guys so much! Your help is much appreciated! I will go and check them out, and then see. I wanted to have an idea on what to look for as not everything is available in every store.

Take care and thanks again! ;)

My vote would be the Bettinardi Studio Stock 16. Out of the 3 milled faces (honeycomb, fly mill and f.i.t.), the fly mill is the best. IMO The finish is gorgeous especially in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

Best is a subjective term for golf equipment as not one putter, iron, wedge, or driver fits every person's eye.

The most "popular" putters of 2018 without a doubt has to be flow neck Scotty X5s, Odyssey 7s, slant neck TM spiders and Ardmores etc. Justin Thomas, DJ, Rahm, Day and almost the entire top 20 in the world golf ranking have made flow neck mallets or mallets in general absolutely explode in popularity.
