I know its not logistically possible or realistic in the least, but I'd love for the US Open to go completely off the grid and go somewhere like Big Cedar Lodge, especially once Tiger's course is completed.  Having a par 3 course be part of that event would glorious theatre.

Don't ever go back to Chambers Bay, but the Northwest is a nice place to be in the summer. So how about Sahalee?

it would be a great test, but probably not "long" enough for the USGA tastes.

I was half kidding.  But 18 on the Mountain course along with 9 from the Player course and 9 from the Tiger course once completed would be a fabulous 4 days of golf, in my opinion.  Scores would be low but entertainment value and picturesque views would rule.  And you'd have support from the greats of the game, who all had a hand in designing at least some part of that resort.

773? USGA would make that a Par 4.
