What is a reasonable amount of time for bought items to ship?

Whether buying on ebay, here, or other golf trading sites, what do you feel is a reasonable time to get bought items shipped?  If you agree to a deal and then payment is made, how long do you wait for someone to send you tracking information before you start to worry?  Any other factors that would be taken into consideration?

Communication is key. I haven't sold a ton of stuff here, but every time I do, I communicate when I intend to ship.  I usually beat that laid out timeline. And never missed. (don't think I've ever gone beyond day after purchase)

As a buyer, while the same would be be nice, I'd say 3 full business days, with no communication and I'd start to get spooked.

Totally agree with the communication.  I am getting a little worried, I bought something over 2 days ago and was told it is boxed up and ready to go and tracking would be sent as soon as he got it.  Haven't heard anything since.  Starting to get a little worried.

If I haven't received a tracking number from the seller within 2-3 days from the date of purchase, I'd start to wonder and email the seller for an update.  

Personally, I think it's important to conduct some due diligence before each purchase to see whether the seller has any negative comments or feedback.  Comments about the seller from other customers may give you a sense about the seller's communication skills or shipping timeframes.  

If you have a bad experience with a particular seller, or you feel the seller could improve some aspect of his/her process, you may want to mention it in a comment so that other customers are aware and (hopefully) the seller will improve.

Unless something comes up Id say within 24 hours is more than reasonable. Now I had a deal a week or so ago where buyer wanted irons bent so it took me a couple days to get to my club fitter and have them bent. Otherwise Id say a Day is more than enough time

That’s me, I get a little antsy if I can’t get the post office by the next morning.

I try to have everything ready, box, packing materials, etc, before I even list anything.

When they don't communicate their intentions promptly and work isn't an excuse.  If you work, then you get a lunch break - guess what you're doing on your lunch break next day, shipping stuff!

Yes communication. If soemthing does arise and there is a problem I try to let them know ASAP, and if it is a delay of any substantial time I’ll give them the option of canceling. Always just try to keep the buyer very up to date. It really helps to alleviate any issues.

Thank you for all of your opinions.  I believe I will give him the benefit of the doubt for 1 more day.  Everything about the guy seems to be on the up and up, but you never know.  Just send me a friggin update is all I ask....

As the seller, I try to do same day or at worst next day depending on what time the sale closes.

As a buyer, NLT 3 days is my expectation. I understand issues may come up and others may not have a PO as readily accessible. As others have said, communication is the key.

I have only NOT shipped within 24 hours when i sold something on a friday and had weekend plans. I informed buyer i would ship monday afternoon.

Communication is key. If not, worry.

1 day after purchase date. If seller communicates then 2-3 days after with a legit reason. I'm not keen on someone having my money AND my item.

Under-promise and over-deliver.  As a frequent seller, I typically state right in the ad that I always ship within 48 hours and it's an absolute rarity if I take more than 24.  As stated several times already - communication is key.  If i'm even remotely pushing it in terms of getting it out the door on time, I immediately message the buyer and let them know what the deal is and make sure they're not guessing.  As a buyer I tend to expect about the same, although I hate when it gets to be a couple days and I've not heard anything in terms of a tracking number.  Not so much because I'm impatient, but more so because on more than one occasion I messaged the seller and got a less-than-friendly response which made me feel like I was being pushy or something.  Hope you hear something soon OP!

I always ship same day if possible, but, sometimes you can’t get to the post office by 5, sometimes the guy doesn’t pick it up, sometimes it’s in the car and you forget. Sometimes you don’t have the right box for a driver. Tell the buyer what’s going on, it’s not that hard.

Next day.  Try to keep the lines of communication open and honest.  If the deal goes through on late Saturday and Monday happens to be a holiday, I remind people of that and will ship out on Tuesday.

When I sold stuff, I shipped it the same day it was purchased, or the next morning if it was too late to ship it that day. I would immediately send the purchaser a tracking number, and I would track it myself. Once I saw it was delivered, I would contact the buyer to ensure everything was received in good order.

Two business days for shipment and providing tracking is not out of line, but it also is based on when the seller committed to do it.  If I tell someone it is going next day, I need to meet it, and if I don't, I need to send a PM/email apologizing for the delay and give assurance it is going the following day.  The seller has an obligation to stay in regular contact with the buyer.

Within a day, two tops. If someone buys something at midnight on a Monday, I don't think shipping Wednesday is unreasonable.

Some of my stuff sold recently while I was on a work trip, I told buyers there would be a delay in shipping and even offered a full refund if that wasn't cool. Everyone was fine. Again, it's just basic communication.

Communication is key as mentioned to keep everybody informed and on the same page. Shipping is typically next day.

If I post a bst ad then that means I have the item ready to ship and ship same day or by next buisness day upon payment. Also I don’t like selling items that say for example won’t be able to ship on so and so date if I’m selling it’s promptly ready to ship

Same day or next morning when I sell. I PM the tracking number from my truck in the post office parking lot then before I even leave
