Back in February, I ordered a set of TM 790 4-PW with DG AMT shafts.  After two weeks we called and said the 6 iron was back ordered but they would send everything but the 6 iron (to be shipped at later time).  They said they would ship March 13th.  Well, this didn't occur and was pushed back to April 5th.  This was pushed back again to April 11th and would be overnighted and arriving today.  Guess what, it wasn't shipped.  I called customer service and after waiting to speak for someone for 15 minutes the rep said I'm not sure whats going on.  I need to check with custom and call me back within a a few minutes.  Surprise, surprise no call back.  I'm so done with them.  After I get these irons (whenever this is) I am done with them.  I am tired of being lied to and no customer service.  I was going to upgrade to the new M3 fairway wood but after recent events I picked up the Cally Rogue 3 wood instead.  I truly hope Taylor Made reads this and fixes things (if they even care).  After trading in my old irons at the local shop for these, I have been without irons for 6 weeks and counting with no end in sight.  I'm so pissed!!  Done ranting.

If I knew it would be like this I would have. They tell me two more when I call which is what it would take with other OEMs. If they told me over six weeks I would have. Instead they lie to me.

Took 3 months to get the 3-PW and it has now been 7 months and still no AW

Are they out of 6 irons because they send those demo irons out?  I can't believe they would send out an incomplete set, let alone make you wait that long for it.

I had a similar experience, albeit not quite as bad.  For me, it was the lack of 7i due to them not having the shaft instock.  Initially after a 6 week delay, when I spoke to CS, they said they changed their policy and would not ship incomplete sets....then two days later, I get a shipping notification...and what arrived was an incomplete set.  3 weeks later the 7i arrived.

I live the irons, don't get me wrong...but I'd think long and hard about ever ordering TM again due to their incredible incompetence with either their supply chain or manufacturing process (or both)

Work in golf retail and I've had the same problem all spring.  TM and Callaway. They don't even notify you it's on back order until you call asking where they are.  Ive been apologizing too customers left and right. Worst thing is when a customer wants to cancel (understandably) but the vendor won't allow us to cancel - even if it won't be shipping for another month. Then we refund the customer and end up buying ourselves a custom order set of who knows what specs.  that won't be an easy sell. And we are the ones who look like idiots to the customer.

Unfortunately this is not unique to TaylorMade. The same thing happened to me the last three orders from Ping. It happened so frequently that I call their customer service before I placed the order with my Pro Shop to make sure they have all the components in stock. Sometimes it's an iron head, sometimes a shaft, but seems like it's always something.

Companies don’t want to get stuck with inventory, especially when they were just purchased by a firm that is looking to make a profit down the road.
Simply TaylorMade did not foresee the popularity of a premium priced niche iron product and have been stuck with manufacturing delays since its release. They are ruining their sales, reputation and profitability, but prioritizing the production of $899 M4 irons over $1299 P790 does make business sense albeit extremely frustrating for early adopters and influencers who want to play them.

This is why I buy "lightly used" irons. Im probably not going to use the crappy a** lightweight shafts and cheapo grips that come stock for one. And two Im going to pay up to $400 less with less scratches on them than I'll put on in one range rock rug session.

We now have an inside guy at Taylormade that is supposed to call us when he sees a potential issue with back orders. He called the other day and introduced himself. I think it's a great idea if it actually happens. It got so bad last year with many of the OEM's, it was truly unacceptable.

It really is becoming to sound like a "race to the bottom" for these organizations now. I thought it was just the cable companies.

I feel for you guys. In this day and age, there's no excuse for this, not with a luxury item retailing north of $1000 that costs almost nothing to manufacture.

Yeah, had a phone call from our guy about a week or so ago on a P790 order for a customer.  Kind of shocked me to receive such a call.  But, I chalked it up to the fact that I despise TaylorMade as a company to do business with and refuse to stock any of their clubs (I will special order for customers who ask, such as in this case) and was just out of touch with their current procedures.   Guess this is a relatively new thing then.

I’d cancel or tell them to hold off and send the newer ones when they come out. With TM it can’t be more than 3-4 before they come out w something new
