The Bushnell Ion has given me more than 2 rounds.  Little slow to update courses (seems it is an entire package upgrade) but has simple shot distance too.  It's not really round, but round exterior.  It was also $125.

ive had my s60 since fathers day this year and i havent had any issues with battery. i did a couple trips to mexico this summer and played 36 holes a couple times in cancun and cabo. played 36 holes in vegas and i had over 40% battery life after each 36 hole outing. but i only use it on the course for club tracking and viewing the hole layout on my tee shot for new tracks.

i imagine if you are using the watch to it full ability you will drain more battery. i probably finished 36 holes in 6 hours or less each time.

i would also avoid using any 3rd party watch faces. i had some issues with the stability of the watch when i was using some 3rd party watch faces. so i just left everything at factory and i use a very basic garmin default for the watch face. all it shows is time and date really.

ive never been a watch or wearables type since the advent of the cell phone, but since getting this watch, i wear it all the time time now.

I am a Garmin fan.  Had a G6 and now a G8.  But thinking about selling the G8 and getting a watch.  Never used a watch before, but like what I see and the shot tracking would be good to analyze my game.  Good mover or bad?

I'd say do it. You won't give anything up. I've used a G6 and have the S60 and the interface is largely the same. Shot tracking is a huge advantage over the other device IMO, and you can also see when a phone call comes in while on the course even with your phone on silent. Perfect for those of us who still have to be available for work occasionally when golfing.

I forgot to add that I have a little over $200 in an Amazon card.  It's burning a whole in my pocket.  I think I will move on and get the watch.  Thanks,

I've been using gps watches for years since the s3 came out and would never go back to a hand-held unit.   So I say go for it.

However, the Garmin shot tracking isn't all it's cut out to be.   Frequent missed shots - particularly if you have an active pre-shot routine.   And it doesn't pick up short shots around the green all that well - which means the yardages of your approach shots will never really be accurate.   At least that's my experience.   Still lots of other functionality makes it worth it (IMO).
