So this year I really want to ty and use some sort of a stat based tracker and find out my stats, and "strokes gained".

I've only been out on the course twice this season. First time out I tried the Taylormade MyRoundPro app. It's free which is nice, but the 1 time I tried using it seemed very clunky and slightly difficult to use and you must use your pone for every shot instead of just entering Driver, 7 iron 150 yards (150 yards minus whatever the total distance of the hole fo driver distance), then 20ft putt, 2nd putt 1ft, par, much like Skycaddie works. Maybe with some work it'll become easier but the 7 or so holes I tried to use and figure it out I found myself getting frustrated with the app and worrying about getting it work instead of my actual shots.

So I guess my options are to either learn how to use the app (Peter Finch seems to make it look easy) or find a different way to collect stats.

What are you guys using for stat collecting?

Iím curious to know what people are using. I have several years of scores saved in GolfShot with Fairways hit, GIRs, # of putts etc... but that level of data is almost useless in helping find strengths and weaknesses. Iím considering MyRoundPro or Arccos 360 or maybe Shot By Shot or GRGS.

The grint is pretty good. Adds more detail than just the simple gir fir putts. Plus the new update they just did added a driving distance grid, an approach shot grid where you can choose between 10 or so different lies and also a putts made grid where it gives you make percentages. Also gives you a free USGA handicap and some other cool tracking stats on the website which can be accessed in the app.

I'm using the GolfPadGPS app. It's good enough for stat tracking (club distances, GIR, putts, etc) but what I've noticed is that if you really want to all stat tracking there is some user involvement necessary. Specifically when talking about club distances, you can either set it to record every shot or only the ones you want, but then you need to input your club selection. This can be tedious if done during a round. If you do it after your round you'll need to recall your club choice.

Just wanted to throw that out there for those interested.

I've used myroundpro for 3 rounds.  Easier after a few times.  Finally figured now to edit a shot of I forgot to click on it.  I can't stand the putting.  Can't ever set the pin right or get distances for putts right.  I think if you had the Samsung watch it would be easier???

Anyone have the watch?  GPS does seem very accurate and stats are neat.  User interface needs some work.  I didnt mess with it during my 1st league night and I don't think I will use it at all for league which is a shame.   I thought it would be too distracting.

I gave up after 2 holes.
The only way i can use that app is if i become completely anti social.
I really like the idea though, and am thinking about getting Arccos

Arccos is great. Besides sometimes having to add a putt once in a while it makes it so I can focus on the shot at hand.

Yeah its kind of confusing especially using the app for putting or around the green. I try setting the distance of the putt and try moving to the correct distance from the pin and every time I move it just keeps counting it as putts etc. Just frustrating. Hopefully I can figure it out so it just becomes a smooth, and not frustrating experience or taking away from the task at hand, which is my golf game. Maybe I can find a YouTube video actually explaining the use and a promotional video for the app. Again Peter Finch uses it, and he really shows a deep dive into his stats. I think really finding out what my weaknesses are by stats will help focus on that section of my game more, and will hopefully lead to better practice sections working on certain something, rather than everything (if that makes sense).

I'd happy to maybe write it down and add after the round. Example being...(also using my Pro X2 for accurate measuring)

Hole 1, Par 4 350 yards
shot 1 driver
shot 2 pw from 110 (mean a drive 240, and I add fairway or rough)
shot 3 putt from 20ft
shot 4 putt from 1ft
resulting in a par

Anyone know of an app like this? Or is this possibly a flawed outlook?
