Hogan didnít start winning majors until he was in his 30s.

Discuss.

Well he should have 5 or 6 wins this season then, as Hogan did at his age.

Also, are the people typing "Ricky" purposefully misspelling his name or is it on accident?

I think what we are all saying is that Rickie needs a little adversity in his life to get him motivated. Hogan had bills to pay. I sure like Sergio he’ll get his major someday.

Hogan struggled with his swing.  Once he figured out how to fade the ball and eliminate the snap hook, he started winning.  Not a direct correlation to Fowler.

Rickie ought to start smoking while he plays.  Maybe he could pick up Ben’s old Chesterfield sponsorship.

Turn that image on its head and maybe win something.

Rickie may be too nice for golf. I like him though and he always has a hottie gf and makes bank and seems to have a great life.

He will win a couple majors before he is done. Phil didn't win one before he turned 34 ?

Fowler fielded questions very well and seemed very confident moving forward. He made a hell of a run from way back and seemed very primed for a possible playoff. Nothing but positives for him.

His time will come. We waited a lot longer for other guys. Phil at 34. Adam Scott at 32. Cabrera could have genuinely had 4-5 majors after age 37 (very close to doing so), let that soak in. ETC.

Rickie will win the big ones eventually. However the hogan comparison really doesn't work...

Phil Mickelson is a better comparison, but by 29 Phil had won 13 times on the PGA Tour. Fowler needs to pick up on the PGA Tour wins, four is not enough for a player of his ability.

I always thought Fowler has been tracking to be the next Fred Couples. Loved by the fans, fun player to watch, but not an all-time legend. Think he'll win a major, but like Couples, could see it being just the one. 15 wins/1 major/2 Players. Could see that when all is said and done.

Fowler is not half the player Hogan was. He played some awesome Golf last night. The up and down from back of thirteen was magical. But he is a product of intense marketing. Other players have won more yet get a tenth of the media coverage.
After last night's performance I think he will win a major, but not nine like The Hawk.

He definitely could win a couple majors within the next two years. He has played the best in majors without winning and has a knack of getting hot and closing with birdies.

I think the right thing to do in that situation is both. Can go with the hybrid laughing cry or the more traditional laugh, come to your senses, then cry.

Good conversation on the No Laying Up podcast that shows Rickie's career is closely mirroring Payne Stewart's. A little bit more flash/style than substance in the beginning until he started winning majors at 32/33. Even have the exact same amount of career PGA tour wins before a major (4) if Rickie's next win is a major.

The Couples comparison is a good one, though you will occasionally find people out there who think Couples is a fraud. He hasn't always treated everyone as well as Arnold Palmer. Rickie by all accounts has done his very best to be a nice guy to everyone. Very much in the mold of Arnold. He needs to win more though. Johnny Miller is right about that one. He's the least accomplished superstar we have ever seen in the game. He is a superstar too. I see more TV commercials with Rickie than any other player.
