For what it's worth, I never had Gen1's.  Recently did a fitting where I tried out multitudes of shaft options/heads etc on Gen2 irons. Going in, I thought that I would go to XF (about an 8-10 HCP) but P line was best all the way through the bag for me.

Yeh I thought about that as well. Guess I'll know for sure after the fitting. I play a combo set now and may end up doing that again with the SF's and the P series.

I have the Gen 1 3iXF.  I use it mostly for a driving iron. It beat out my TM UDI and the Cobra Utility Iron. I loved the Cobra Utility Iron until I purchased the PXG XF.  Straight and easy to hit off the tee and off the deck. Doesn't seem bulky or to large when it sits behind the ball. Actually gives me confidence and the feel is great.

Today I had my Gen2 fit and I do have to say there is a difference in feel.  Could be the shaft but the fitter kept saying it was the new tech, but the Gen 2's just really want to go straight.  Maybe a slight fade or draw but nothing big.  When hit, it felt great and it went.  I currently play the 16 Apex Pros.  Distance wasn't that different on well struck shots.  Maybe a couple yards.  However there is a big difference on mishits.

So back to the T to the XF.  He had all 4 models with him.  T, P, XF and SGI.  He SGI are way too big and nothing I would want but to each his own.  The XF looks fine and the P looks like the a little bigger than my Apex Pros and the T's about the same as my Apex Pros.

I don't think it would be a big deal if someone went from the P's to the XF's but going to from the T's to the XF's looks wise would be a big move.  Also the forgiveness will be huge as XF's are stupid easy and the T's are like all better players clubs.

I ended up buying a full set and even purchased a driving iron so it looks as if I need to put the 3iXF on the BST soon.

If you're willing to pony up for the pxg I really would suggest hitting the epon 503s. The price is not far off.

Had my fitting yesterday, really impressed with the feel of the new club faces. Ironically I was fitted for the same shaft I have in my current PXG's. Just confirms the first fitting and also what I see on the course. I tried the Steelfiber, Recoils and the new KBS Graphite. None were even close to the Accra's as far as dispersion. The recoil was probably the longest of the 4. I averaged about 7 - 8 yards further than my current set and with a little higher ball flight. Went with the 4 - 6 in SF's and the 5 - PW in the P.

I hit XFs and they felt good.  But the offset was a problem for me and I hooked th snot out of them. I think the T or P would be better for me
